I think should be careful about entries on other brokers because this EA is made and tested on Alpari UK (please correct me if I'm wrong), so if Alpari no entry, i think we really shouldn't entry on other brokers.
For example, this time my broker entry but Alpari Demo no entry, so it is not really fault of EA, but a question why my broker entried.
V16 actually did enter long on my Alpari UK live. I am on a different setting (TSL=12, TP1=30,TP3=35) so was lucky enough to have exited the trade with a few pips profit.

I should have stayed in bed LOL -140 x3 bah ya can't win them all. Its august for crying out loud. I would have closed it but its demo dollars and i like to see how the EA hold up under this pressure.

Bummer!

I lost 2 x $140 on my Alpari live micro account, thats 2% of my equity!

The irony is, the "timed exit" that we have added to v17 would have prevented this from happening!

That;s right uncle, before when i see that only reach +20 closely with t/p1, n calculate that entry start from 02.20 on broker fx pro, until 08.45 was arround over 6 hours, i remember ur rule for max 8 hour, but before i;m close that position manually i must do something importance, n left it with hope this rules not effective this times, but when come back was minus,.. if v17 lunch early, today i think we not get loss , right ?

Still waiting V17.

V17 should be posted later today, using the optimiser the delay time is best
at 7 hours and the TP is 8 pips per order.

Here is the latest Tokyo EA v17

 

  1. Timed exit controlled via 2 new parameters:

int PositionMaxOpenHours = 7;
int PositionMaxOpenHoursMinProfit = 8; // can be negative if you want to exit with a loss...

  1. The EA comment now displays the Total Potential Profit per position

  1. Fixed an issue with the trailing stops. If position 1 hits its TP level but price reverses sharply the stops may not get trailed if the EA fires after the price has dropped from the TP1 level.

  1. The EA can optionally check the integrity of your H1, M15 and M5 data to identify holes in your data greater than a user specified number of days. This check is off by default because downloading historical data can cause holes in your realtime chart data and refreshing realtime charts can cause holes in your historical data !!!!! That's what I'm seeing for Alpari UK - doah !

int MaxDataGapSizeInDays = 100000; // checked at EA init time only

The chart shows 12 months back test using Alpari demo account at 0.1 lots
with the 3 order option.

For those who still use v9 I have added the "timed exit" to this and re-named
it "OverNight_EAv9a" so it will not be confused with any previous EA's.

The default settings have been optimised using an Alpari UK demo account.

The graph shows 12 months back-test to date.

update: I just backtested this on Alpari Demo, 2010.04.06 still shows a loss. It is not straight up with no loss like on your graph.

start on 2010-01-28 to 2010-07-02
n found 1 DD on 2010-04-06 that;s right ?

Same here, it still loses on July. Though the other losses are prevented, like that of yesterday.

I'm still struggling to find a suitable strategy, sometimes I think I might just quit this hobby and focus on my main job. Crap, I can't believe I could have taken the money I saw cable collapsing and I did nothing. I hate myself.

You have only got 59% modelling quality on your chart, mine was 90% !
