Here we go again! Looks like the Financial Regs that was just signed into law in the US will give the CFTC more power over Forex regulation. Scroll down to Particular Products and look what is listed as needing new rules written.

Hi all,

I just wanted your comments on a PM I got from EO some time ago.

Hey Cisco.....

Thanks for the reply. I understand the comment on moving the stop up. I have had some success recently with using small trailing stops when approaching strong SR areas. If it goes through it take me with it, if it comes back - it takes me out, but for only slightly less of the move..... of course, there have been a fair few times where it then continued on for 100's of pips.

So..... where price is reversing and assuming you have closed/stopped out your longs, would you follow the 5/10 back down towards? I am just trying to work out whether the 5&10 are one way streets as far as the 35sma is concerned.

If they are above by 35, then follow them up. If they are below by 35, then follow them down. If they are above but coming down to the 35 - leave them alone. If they are below but coming up to the 35, then leave them alone...... that kinda thing.


Also.....whats hth?

ps.... You still using this strategy or have you 'moved' across to what EO and Pippi are doing.... the 4hr charts?

I think you, like a lot of others are making this a whole lot harder than it needs to be. Just remember that higher time frames are our guiding light. The m15 is there more for entries than anything else.

One other piece of advice. Always wear clean underwear when you go out. You don't want to be like Pippi and have shitty pants and get into an accident.

I appreciate your comments and yes, they do help.

I have really started paying attention to the 4hr chart recently and my trades have improved significantly because of it. I have moved my account from -25% back up to just over break even in just 5 trades from the higher time frames.

It may just be me, but it certainly seems as though the 15minute trading chart is being left behind in favour of the higher timeframes..... that said, my view is from the perspective that the 15minute was incredibly important, so if it's never really been as important as I thought it was then its a bit of scewed view.....

Anyhows.... I shall leave you to your 'plumbing' safe in the knowledge that I DO have clean underwear......

When you geta chance I'd love a little more feedback if you are able too.....

As I mentioned previously, the higher timeframes are finaly coming to the forefront of my trading..... finally....... why it's taken so long I have no idea, especialy with the likes of yourself, pippinole and EO continually banging it into us.

That said, because it is only now coming to the forefront, I am not entirely sure on how to trade it.

Is it simply a case of looking for reactions when it hit an AREA of resistance, beit and MA, SR or a trendline? Obviously this reaction would come from the 15minute chart etc etc.......

If this is the case, then what are the 15 minute MA's for? is it just simply smaller trades or do you look for reactions off these MA in favour of the higher timeframe candles.........

I am going to start waffling.

I read last night that when the higher timeframes favour longs (ie there is an uptrend) then long signals are stronger than short signals (and vicecersa).

So, if the 4hr just closed (or is about to close) with a strong long signal/candle, do you then favour the 15minute MA signals long?


So..... to summarise my questions:

1. If the higher timeframes are the leader, why do we have the smaller timeframe MA's and how are they traded?

2. If the HT hit an area of resistance, do you then simply look for PA on the lower timeframes or do you look for a bounce off an MA?

I eagerly await your response.........

Leemonk, Great questions! I await the answers as well. I have been lurking this board for some time trying to take it all in. I thought it would be good to start participating in the board now. I am new to forex and there is a lot to learn. I have only been trading for about 5 months. Pippinole is who got me started.

I constantly watch the HTFs, but it is more of a glance to see the sentiment of the market. I would love to understand this better. I am sure it will help my trading a lot.

I'm a terrible teacher but I'll give you my abbreviated take.

1. The smaller tf ma's are good for giving the 1:00 and 5:00 trade directions. This is especially helpful when the market is in a consolidation mode like often happens before and after major market openings and closings.

2.When price is at or near higher tf resistance or trend lines, then drop down to the lower tf's for an entry point.

It's just that simple! Don't make it so hard.

One other piece of advice and then I'm done. You've got your account back to a positive situation after dropping into negative territory. Good! Now, stop trading live and use a demo account until you're consistently profitable using the knowledge you've acquired. Also re-read this thread or at least the high points. Nearly all possible questions and situations have been answered already. Good luck!

I want to add that there are a few more trades which interact with the MA's:

- 1 o'clock and 5 o'clock trades

- 1 h 62 ema touch trades

- 35/50 cross and reverse trades

- when the MA's are flat ranging scalping trades

- some kind of 35/50 after cross retest trades

- and you need the MA's for the +-35 pip range which is a cornerstone of the method.

Ken teached once that you can use the MA's for profit taking and as trailing SL's.

It's very generous that you don't discriminate the setups. I mean all pips are equal no matter if they come from japan, america or great britain. Maybe it's a problem for you if they come from pippinole. ^^

Do you mean the Dance/Choras strategy?

If so, then my answer is 'kind of'. The MA's are very similar to EO's, mainly in part to the fact that the strategy was put together with the help of Endroute who, I know, was active in this thread a lot.

That said, Clay certainly put his own touch and personality into it.

The issue I have with it is that it misses out the 4hr chart, which I am growing to like and also, there is heavy emphasis on 'touch' trades and less emphasis on using PA for those trades.

I was getting a great many 'wrong' touches. I am sure it was down to my own trading as others seem to do okay with it, but you never really know as I think I was only one of a ,very small, few that posted their losing trades.

Simple fact is, currently, my higher timeframe trading is more than supporting my lower time frame trading...... I just can't seem to stop trading the lower timeframes........ so it's two steps forward and one step back........ which is fine, but why shouldn't it be two steps forward and....... two more steps forward........
