Wow, that is quite comprehensive! Thanks a lot for this knowledgable answer. With Alpari uk I recently get data holes between 7th of May and 9th of July so I will go for the Alpari russia version after all.

Nope, I didnīt change the magic number. Why would I ? If the EA runs on different Brokers or only a different account, I donīt need to change the magic number..at least not according to my experience.

I use the standard 2 order settings and I just leave the H1 chart showing, I
am asleep when the trade occurs so I am not watching the M5 indicators.

Well you did say "one is Activtrades microlot and one is Activtrades "ECN"
these two at least would require different magic numbers!

No, sorry...it wouldnīt because it is two different accounts....they are totally independent from each other and therefore they would not require a change of the magic number.

You could have x number of accounts with the same broker and you would not need to change the magicnumber if youīd use an EA on each account.

Only, if I would trade the same pair on the same account with the same EA but, for example, different settings, I would have to change the magic number....

So the magic number wouldnīt be the issue in my case.

I am very familiar with the use of EAīs...thatīs why I have to disagree :-)

Hi! You`re right! Alpari is the Russian company and so really datafeed are in Russian Server (live in Kazan city). Sorry for my bad english

hey guys since this system started to be tested on live... on which days the biggest losses occured?

i just followed your suggested way of doing it and it worked great. Honestly I have no clue how you could find out this trick because it has so many corners that getting it just by try and luck seems to be impossible to me. Nevertheless the backtests work....of course they are only on demo but what the heck.

It is fascinasting to see that if I open a demo account with Alpari New Zealand from the Alpari Russia webpage I get the Alpari Russia database on an Alpari Central European server....

After reading quite a few of the replies in this thread and downloading Geoff's EA, I just wanted to personally thank Geoff for his EA and so far on my little demo account it seems to be working beautifully.

I've done lots and lots of reading and still consider myself a complete novice but after searching all over for a good EA feel this could be the one to use in the future once I finally have the bottle to go live.

Anyway all the best everyone and keep posting as all comments are greatly appreciated for us newbies!

PS I forgot to switch the PC on last night, so missed out on the trade, D'oh!

That's weird. i would think they would perform similarly since logic is same. 16 just more code cleanup and visual features.........
