That's how it looks like, I didn't change anything. I took the EA and put my timezone to GMT+2 all the other values have been kept default.

The backtest I did was very promising too, looked similar to yours.

often it shows a reversal rather than following the trend.

I was kind of hoping someone who is using the EA at different times would

For what its worth...I have tried pre- london news and post London news with the standard Tokyo Ea and a modified one and its very clear that Geoff has this EA set at the best time with the best pair and I would say that any other time or pair will not return the same results as we have seen with this EA so far...

I think indeed that it is almost impossible to improve your ea by conventional means.

The only way of improvement I can think of is to make it a learning system. Two things come to my mind in this regard:

1) how did external shocks like big bancruptcies change the financial market and what can we learn in order to apply from that (i.e. playing the less leverage game which direct impact was a rising CHF (no more cheap CHF loans for retail customers and home builders in Europe) and rising JPY (same reason)

2) what impact on financial market will have a second dip?

Both lead to the same point: Your ea, as a trend following ea proofed to work great in current circumstances. How does point 1) and 2) change these circumstances and how can we weatherproof the ea in order not to cope only with the current environment but to withhold a stresstest of the future.

In short words: How can we make this ea so resilient that it is not only profitable now but still in 2 years time in a changing environment and the ea is learning it's lesson by itself. Because, from my experience, human mankind (and this is including me) will have to learn it again the tough way via losses......

I agree 100% with you. I have run numerous and endless tests with different set ups and different entry rules for different start times only to find out that risk/reward in it's very initial form found by Geoff is not to be beaten.

Having run hundreds of tests I think to have proofed at least myself that Geoff's settings are simply the best!

Going further, diversification of risk is always something which I am eager to achieve but not if opportunity costs of diversifications (in form of tying up employed/working capital in a less efficient way) are too high.

No trade's here on Alpari either....looking like it may drop back to the 1.5680-1.5666 area.....

Do you know why it spiked earlier? Is it related to Li ka Shing buying EDF UK assets for 6 bn GBP?
