If you are referring to the 'Candle' label in the 'panel', it shows the time remaining until the next candle starts. Within the limits of MT4 coding, it is based on the time of each incoming tick. When there are no ticks incoming, real time is passing while the label time is 'frozen'. That could be the discrepancy. Also, your computer's clock comes into play there, too. If your computer's clock is off a tad, then that too could be the discrepancy. Also, what are you comparing the time that is shown to?

Acutally, I find that label information worthless in trading. I mean, gee, how is knowing there are 5 minutes left on a candle going to improve one's trading. I've been thinking of removing it and the range from the 'panel'.

Trades Update:

My GU trade got slaughtered! Oh well, I should have suspected that these greedy market manipulators weren't fniished with their tricks!

My EU trade is still running. I may just leave it running for the rest of the summer! I pulled the SL again on this in order to stay in. I have a lot of faith that it will turn.....big time!

Speaking of that, look at the volume study on the second chart. There is a lot of activity concentratiion; not just big spikes but consistently heavy trading. It is as though the big hitters are, in a very strong way, going about a planned out move without missing a beat. At the highest prices of the summer, what do we think THAT means?

My bad ... did not even consider that my pc clock could have been on display. Anyway here is a pic of what I meant... I should have put that along with the initial Q... Thank you

Here's the chart. And of course it needs an explanation ... :

Reasons for keeping my short and wide SL compare to sonic classic entry :
--> We had a good volume at the high at london session.
--> Then we had a move down. I was good in profit, but then trade reverses. I expected to see a move up for New Yorkers to sell. So I put my SL beyond the half number, because if it broke the half, I didn't want to be in that trade anymore. And price barely touched my SL. I was lucky I guess
--> After price turns down, I added to short.
--> Important factor for new traders is my total risk was only 3%I didn't lost averaged. I didn'y managed to give more than 3-5% of my account on any trade. Mostly it's less than 3%.
--> I took half at average +53 pips and the rest is at BE.

I still recommend for new sonicers to stick with classic rules and specially stick with solid SL.

What are they "playing at"? Well........

If there are hundreds of millions of dollars to be made on the next big move, and you need to both change the direction of some of your positions, and flush out your account with more trades consistent with the future move, what do you do?

And if your plans cannot be executed without "other traders" taking the opposite side of your planned portfolio, what do you do? Remember, the banks/liquidity providers will not tolerate just taking order after order for only one side of a trade!

Here is what you do.....

You jack the price up and down for all you're worth! And all the while you close your longs and open shorts. And you keep this sh_t up, until your dasterdly deed is fully accomplished!

Wow! I envy you your average entry price!

Mine stinks! But it is my own fault for not following SonicR entry rules.

But, with all the shenanegans the big players are about, up here at the highs, if anybody has an entry within even 500 pips, they are sure to make money on the run down.....

Edit: I just remembered,several weeks ago one of the talking heads on CNBC or CNN was asked about the current rise in the euro/dollar (it was around 1.2500 then), and what did he think the future held. His reply was (and with a great deal of pretended refection) that the dollar is getting stronger and that the upwards move in the euro/dollar didn't have much left in it....oh, maybe it will go to 1.2600, or 1.2650.......(then a pause).....possibly near 1.2700. HA! Liars! They were 'putting out' the false 'truth' hoping a lot of traders would go short between 1.2600 and 1.2700. Why? So when the big players started the drive up to build their short positions, they could take those by running the expected tight stops. Essentially it promoted more traders to get into the market.....adding much needed liquidity the big players would require if they were to build larger short positions as they drove the price thru that range to a much higher top.

Perhaps the erratic PA on EU the past few days reflects the fact that this pr is poised to either pass or reject at a round number 1.3000 and the associated S/R area , and there's a lot of back-and-forth as a consequence.

And/or could we be entering the "August doldrums"? I have heard that because so many traders vacation at this time (including the majority of the Europeans), the market becomes less liquid and more volatile. However, this is just what I've heard and my first time through this part of the year seriously following the market, so I can't say I know for sure because I have seen this every Aug bla bla. Have the seniors heard/observed the same?

Truely cardinale, do you see the PA as erratic? Well, maybe so. But when I look at the H4 chart, for almost a month and a half, I see a price push up. There are three legs, followed by a fourth attempt that barely made it higher than the high of the third leg. And now, per previously posted M15 charts, there is an awful lot of trading in the high zone range.

To me, it looks like this month and 1/2 run up has been for the purpose of shedding longs and taking on shorts, maybe preparations for a huge move south.....this fall?

Regardless, while it is nice to speculate the whys and wherefores, all we REALLY care about is that there is tradeable movement every week. We need to make money, just like the big players need to! So, on this count I think we can be sure, "Pump 'n Dump" or not, August vacations or not, there will continue to be market movements sufficient for the big players to continue to rake it in.

Sorry TAH, I should have been more clear--meant my comments regarding erratic behavior related strictly to short-term 15M chart--on the longer time frames, what you are saying makes perfect sense. Just that what is orderly in a long term TF can look jumpy on the 15M.

As an aside, reading through the thread I was struck by how back in Oct and Nov of last year you called the reversal in EU by correctly interpreting the pair's behavior in the preceding weeks.

Also, I wish to add that my perspectives are those of someone in the early stages of learning. By posting from time to time I hope to learn from feedback as today, not put my views out as the product of years of experience!

I am only familiar with Windows Xp and Xp Pro. With these, after you download the zip file, just double left click on the zip file folder icon. That should open it so you can see/access the files and folders contained within.

In case Tah's suggestion does not open it, right click on the folder and chose “Extract here”. I hope this helps…

As we approach the Frankfurt open, we may....just may get a short setup. I only say this because PA currently is configured with a H-L-LH. All depends on if this holds. Recently these early euro session configurations have not held, because either the Frankfurt or London traders pumped the price to, or past the previous high.

GU Short Trade Initated:

There was no proper HL sequence to validate this as a SonicR trade. What did exist was a PA breach up thru whole number resistance, followed by consolidation for the next move. And that next move was back down thru the SR area, and the Dragon.

Edit: Added second chart showing London trading pushing price back up....maybe to a "lower high". This emphasizes the bad entry I made. Without a proper HL sequence, the risk is higher, and this is what can happen. If PA stops short of the previous high, thus making a lower high, and then moves down again, the trade may turn out ok. That is an "if" I would not have to deal with if I had not entered, and instead waited for a proper setup.

Previous EU trade closed on BE. now with volume at the high, I entered earlier on 50% fibo, and will add to it on sonicR classic entry.

Had to get out my magnifying glass to confirm the scale on the right pointed to this being a trade of EU. Don't like it. Why not just post the chart off MT4....faster and easier to read on the thread.
