no matter how experienced you are, if you are a retail trader you simply dont stand a chance when you are trading against the dealers during news data release......you will lose, its inevitable.

Me too ... I discovered some time ago that trading news was Oooold. I still listen to Bloomberg but I no longer jump on the keys when they say X is up or Y is down. It was a near guaranteed cert that as soon as I followed their 'advice' I lost!! LOL

Anyway I think EU will still trade in the range and will follow equities for direction.
Are there any important earnings to be reported today?

Stock futures are down. Bad US news is not good for stocks and hence I think this is the good time to short EU. But mmay be 10-20 pips range

I wasn't waiting for that, I closed at the top of the spike after the news. Trick is to see the positioning of others before the news, then my time count gave me a perfect close. If it hit the full Tp I would have closed there also.

Ive blown my account many times using many methods and systems. Some may have worked some clearly didnt. What I do know is that I never succeeded until i realised the main ingredient in the menu is money management and discipline. I havent got the patience to prove it but im sure I could make a simple MA work. You have a near 50% chance of being right when you start and yet we are told 95% lose. It can only be in the mind. As for trading the news. I never worry about it,I have a stop in place and it can work in my favour as well. unless you only trade the news I beleive you will fail. You would spend your time waiting for each news event to come out and what it will do is mess up your line of thought and set up,so why wait
