The general idea should be buy low sell high and vice-versa.
But some institutions don't bother to buy high sell higher and vice-versa. For some of them, it really depends on the size of the pockets...

What stops me from going long is Goldman going "bear" on the dollar last week.

It is a bit crazy what is happening in these months, but we gotta see a lot of big players closing their SHORT positions sometimes... I would not say all of the upward moves are manipulative.

IMO... no technical analysis can tell what happens next...

Solution? Yeah stop-loss orders at break-even ASAP... TP is variable, sometimes we can see surprise (like today's 200pip upward move)...

Goldman also said the Euro would rise back to 1.45 and that the dollar rally was over in April when it was channeling between 1.32 and 1.3750 and price action plummetted to 1.1875. Everyone makes mistakes.

Didn't you catch my irony? In the reality that means Goldman is completely bull on the dollar, and probably opposite for euro. Remember that GS is also the most profitable investmentbank on Wall Street.

GS has probably hedged their bets across the board (between many of their traders all trading the same instruments). Its not uncommon for big banks to have 100's of employee all trade the same instrument while everyone share different sentiments. Thats what we do. By doing so it's hard to lose either way but you need the pockets to do so.
