besides, today was a good morning trading session with sonicR
EU closed with +50 pips (short)
EJ closed with +50 pips (short)
GU closed with +70 pips(short)
EG closed with -7 pips (long)

even though I'm still expecting that to go even lower, I decided to close them and guarantee a good profit, I may get in again if there is any re-entry later on...

Is that hangman on the EU 15M a reentry candle? And if so, how would you enter a few pips past it?

Sorry if I sound like a pest, but a few pips could mean the difference between a good entry and a reversal you'd rather not be in.
A "few" is a few.....2, 3, maybe 4 or 5? What difference can it possibly make, what pair, huh?

A couple of pips on a proper SonicR trade will never make the difference with anything! (Improper money mgmt. will.)

Sonic has a fundamental rule......."No chart, no post." So gather your questions you cannot possibly answer yourself by delving into this method, and post them with a chart, hopefully explaining what it is you do not understand.

As far as a re-entry on EU, consider this. And this is a senario based on nothing more than conjecture. Over last days the profs of each session have helped to inch price ever upwards.....coaxing in longs while actually going short themselves....all preparations for a big fall. We may have seen just the tip of the iceberg "fall" so far today. But why would the profs rush a good thing. Given time, they may get it back up more.....still trying to coax others to go long!

I'm not sure about re-entry right now. Personally, I am waiting for a better pullback upwards. It may exclude me from the next leg down, but maybe not. The profs are greedy. And the US session profs may want another crack at higher prices to short at before letting the price fall much farther. This is all speculation, of course.

And, it is Friday. A bad decision here could leave one in a trade already losing money by the close. And it the trade is not closed beforehand, there is the risk of a gap at the open of next week....a gap that further increases loss. So, if we are thinking "down" now, a good decision is to re-enter very, very high again.....or forget it until next week.

We all have to make our own decisions. And SonicR is not about analyzing the "message" of individual candles on an M15 chart!

Please, take the weekend and start reading your way thru this post, duly reflecting and taking notes as you go along. I am sure within a month you can have the entire thread behind you, with good notes and a lot less need for questions on basics.

Hi TAH,

It was a really good position for me, and because when it goes up to made the last divergence, it didn't go that far, so it saved my trade and I added again when I saw the fifth divergence. Now I closed 3/5 of the total trade size and the rest is running on a risk free trade. Next two targest (1/5 each) is 1.2560 & 1.2510.

Very good trade for me ... very low risk, but very good reward

P.S. : I wasn't at my laptop. And I was managing my trades with mobile phone.

"That's ME", I would go to a lower TF like 5m wait for the retrace and a new SR entry...if I really think that would be the right move...

I'm just trying to find out what those, like you, who are successful with this method use regulary.

If by money management you mean risk control. No problem there.

I can however possibly see how many pips past the close making a difference. Too little and I might get in on a revese and unnessary drawdown. Too much I could miss out on pips that I should have in the profit.

So, how many past do you usually use? And is it based on something other than the close candle?

I consider 4-5 pips (+spread) for "few" myself.

A "few" is a small number. So, it could be 1, 2, 3, etc.

Nothing was said about spread, so don't make this more confusing for yourself. Charts are based on the bid. So long or short, x pips above or below is x pips.....period.

Personally, I sometimes enter even before. Sometimes I push the enter button as I see the price moving past the extremity of the EP setting candle, without regard for exactly what pip number is it at! Seems to me you are trying to overcomplicate and be too restrictive. SonicR is a method with few rules, few technicals, few indicators required.....pure, simple. But on the other hand, you have to take some responsibility to exercise good judgement, and stop expecting your every move to be pre-defined down to the very last pip!

I suggest you read the thread. There are plenty of examples here by excellent traders of this method.....more than enough examples to answer any reasonable questions that might remain.

Thanks. I see it is sometimes a judgment call. As I am new to this method I wanted to start with more of stricter entry for practice to keep me anchored. I didn't expext that past the entry the entrance should be golden and make a b line in my favor, that is not why I asked.

I will read the the thread in it's entirety over the next week. I got through about 25% of it yesterday and then skimmed back and forth over the rest.

I think that's because of the higher volatility of EJ. Also, see in the manual for example: SL for XXXJPY trades is recommended to be about double compared to other pairs (40 vs. 80).

Back then we had bigger moves, so filtering and TPs and SLs were bigger. But now, as if you mentioned, there were a change in the market, as always, and we don't adabt ourselves to these changes, our balance will suffer very much.

Anyway, I believe many Sonicers use 3-4 pips above, below the signal candle to avoid false breakouts ...
