and certainly more interesting than "the backtesting from 2005 is terrible...please explain why!"

I waited to see what the EA was going to do as I sat most of Sat. and Sunday studying to see if there was a true correct direction to go. The EA went long. So we will now see as I manually followed suit on a very very small practice account that i use with live money. We will just call it my gambling account.

Again Geoff thanks for the great robot and I hope it plays out well through the night.

One the flip side should I shut off the EA for tomorrow as there will not be a NY COB time?

Long on FXpro here. No trades on Alpari. Uhmm not sure if I should close it, so far it's a loss...

Well I manually closed my manual trade for a 5 pip profit.

Now I am watching the demo account and it is down down. Won't run any trades today as the market here in the US will be still affected by the 4th of July holiday.

While FXPro seemed to be the only broker that DID open a trade last night it's too soon to bail, even though there's a 'fairly' big drawdown right now. Remember that Geoff established the S/L at 140 pips for a reason. It's done this before and recovered for a win. Doesn't mean it won't hit the S/L this time, but the ONLY way to make this system profitable IS TO FOLLOW HIS RULES! IF it closes for a loss you take your lumps and move on to 'next'! That's what trading is all about.

Agree, 140pips S/L is set for this situation.

what settings do you use? Just asking as the 197 ma and 10 ma yesterday were clearly not in consolidation.....

Hi,
I seen too much versions and confused which one is good for eurusd and gbpusd pairs.
i am using fxcm uk ltd mt4 what gmt i use and which version i use is it place breakeven trades? what times i use there.

or using 4b with only one indi...but I am asking as I can remember that one setting is using 197 and 17 and this one would have been a closer call than 197 and 10.

Sorry in advance but can someone tell me if the EA in the 1st thread is the latest updated version?
I started out with the intention of reading the whole thread through but it is very very long.

I have backtested the EA V14 posted on the first thread (10 year) but with poor results

Geoff, appreciate ur sharing of a profitable system.

I am moved from your other thread to here after reading all 68 pages! to find u guys moved here.. and i see 400+ pages and so many versions...hmm a bit confused.

So far I have camvcvooV5.ex4, very impressed by backtests.. but yes one or two bad trades hammered the profits down to huge draw downs

May I ask has the huge drawdown problem been resolved with contribution of the individual who offered assistance?

Can u please recommend the name/version of EA that has a safety belt? or one that is most profitable yet has that risk appetite.

Geoff, u've been great help to the people and earn the honorable title of a "goodboy" I am really impressed with your personality of helping others. For I, too want to contribute to the world, as i get chance.. but first i need to make some money, it seems to have power, with this power I hope, we can make world a better place, this is my main in life. but anyhow.. look forward to thy response.

indeed it takes quite a few days if you really wish to read through the entire thread but however it is worth while.
If you talk to different people who helped to develop through the various stages of the ea you will find different preferences.

In short:
1) the ea will not work for any backtests pre 2008 as it is not made to perform during times of huge stress (like the first leg of this depression in 2007/2008)
2) you need to define if you want to go with one- two- or threelegstrategy. You should not look so much for potential gain but what your max drawdown should be.
3) Overall, the ea is probably the best what you can come across. at least this is consenus of even the more experienced guys who spent some little fortune on technical equipment.

Again, you will build the necessary trust into anything only over time and experience with it. Finally it all comes down to the same point: You need to put your money where your mouth is. So perhaps worthwhile reading through all the pages to find out your preferences.....
