I'll second that,

Alpari-UK demo #3 trades at 23:10 GMT. All 3 successful

TP#1 = 22, TP#2 = 1.80 TP#3 10.40 Total 34 Pips

All charts good, and no errors reported in any of the logs

I wish I could get EAs to work on spread betting accounts

How did some trigger at 23:10 and others at 1:15? Some are in TP and others are in seriously in the hole? Same broker. How can there be that much difference?

Hi Jacob. I like your philosophy with the EA. If you go for bigger lots, do you reduce the SL for this method, or do you leave it as is?

I had one live account trigger at 1:15 (Alpari time) with TP1 22 and that one
closed in profit but I had another that triggered at 1:15 with TP 24 and that
one is still running at a loss.

My demo account triggered at 1:11 (Alpari) with TP1 24 and that is still running!

Nickém got filled at 23:? That's what threw me. Alpari UK also. His was a demo. Would that make the difference?

23:10 that I quoted is GMT. Geoff quoted Alpari time 01:15 . Alpari is GMT +2 therefore ~ same time.

I confess to being a long time lurker in this thread - totally in awe of the work Geoff and Piptician have invested here but keeping my mouth shut as I did not think I could add much. However, I add my personal thanks and gratitude for the effort they and many others have put in.

I do have one question however related to an error I saw in the expert log last night.

Basically it would appear that v13 opened L2 and L3 orders at 1:15 @1.50960 just like it did for everyone else but I did not get a L1 order. As a result TP was never reached on L1 but L2 and L3 orders hit the TSL (I think!). Here is the relevant lines from my log;

I did have other versions of the EA running which tried to open orders at the same time (I cleaned the log just to show v13) so perhaps there are two lessons to be learned here. Firstly if we run multiple versions then chances are this could happen as the EA's will compete, secondly I wonder whether the v13 EA should check that it has successfully opened L1 before going on to open L2 etc.

Any thoughts?

Looks to me as though the difference is the TP (22 vs 24). The TP was right on the high so TP22 filled in profit whereas TP24 was not reached and is still running at a loss.

I'm just lucky I left the TPs at default.

Nickem mentioned 23:10 GMT which is correct. But you are right that it is somewhat strange that on the same account type you get different results. But I think there will always be some difference for whatever reason.

My Alpari UK Live is with V12 and it did not trade at all and there is nothing in the logs.

My Alpari UK Demo traded long with V13 and missed TP1 by 0.8 pips!!

On checking the log I can 'Cannot Login' remark at 01:40. Then the first order is logged at 01:46, not 01:15 as it says in the MT4 Trade window. So it is possible that a connection issue delayed the order hence missing the TP.

That's spot-on, I tried TP1 at 24 for a while then went back to 22 as the
back-testing gave one more losing day at 24 but I forgot to change all my
accounts to 22 except my live one, thank goodness!

Alpari demo accounts are a pain in the butt, they are forever disconnecting!

after some absence I would like to make a view annotations what happened to me the last 2 days:

1) v8 and v9 collided yesterday again (after they collided 9th of June the last time) and v9 could not send any orders because trade context was busy. The ea then forgets this order completely which is dangerous if an open position which hits t/p cannot be closed. Reason: the trailing s/l is not activitated and as mentioned by Sky some time ago, the open position is just being unwatched.

2) v11 and v13 on Alpari demo collided as well, both were on a 2 order preset and however 3 longs were initiated by one of them ( which one I do not know because the ea does not specify itself).

3) Allthough v11 and v9 are working the same algo, I have consistently different backtesting results because the order modification process in v11 is slightly different to v9. How can this be if the algo is still the same?

Sorry for posting a lot of questions and no answers but that is what just came to mind using this great ea.

23:11 at 1.5097
Still running .

--Demo Acc: LONG
Triggered 23:10 at 1.5100 (Took Profit 19 pips,why not 22?)
23:10 at 1.5100 (still running w/Tp 50)
23:11 at 1.5098 (still running w/Tp 80)

Price now 1.5055...

Will be winners or losers?
What should I do:Waiting for reversal? let go? or take the loss,stop manually right now? ....

I can't tell you, but I'm in the same position and I'm going to see it thru. Unless G says otherwise. I've seen this thing come out of worse situations than this and go on to TP.....Just my thoughts.

I agree. Allthough not having any long position right now, the stress in the market due to bad chinese data seems to abate which is also underlined by the decline of synthetic Vix index.
I don't want to give advise but GBP stabilizes.
