I've only been trading for a couple months now but have studied technical analysis for a few more months.. I guess I'm wondering if anyone here has had some difficulty trading this pair over the last 2-3 weeks? I realize I have much to learn and it will take time but it seems even the analytics I've read over the last week have had a hard time predicting these moves (which seem to me to be slow and smaller moves). Am I alone in being a little bit confused right now as to if it's heading up before a big drop or just going down slowly..?
assume the position...whichever that may be

have a sell order with sl 1.22863, who was hit ... but the price print on chart is much lower 1.22783....

Well thanks for the well thought out reply.....it shows that you are a good person.....I think this all started by saying your analysis was wrong and I did that politely.....

you are looking for 1.25 and I said this will never happen.......good luck

You mind posting your entry and target as I said if you are looking for a minor correction you may be correct and I apologize and hats off to you...

speaking of USDCHF...

I really do want to short EU, however my EU chart tells me otherwise. Also, seeing E/J at 109 again does not help either.

Yes the best of traders will have had trouble because we were in a correction

Sure... , consolidation with sudden and harsh retracement action as positions cash in at the end of a significant move either direction, followed by boring and often smallish Ranges can be frustratingly difficult to trade.

You can be dead right on direction and have Sucky Timing...

Or a Double Whammy... wrong direction AND timing.

The best methods during those times is either stay sidelined (or demo) till the market directs otherwise, or loading up at whichever extreme edge of the range you may be inclined to trade... ie, short bias continuation of (EU) weekly and monthy trends then you'd sell extreme tops at longer TF Resistance levels, opposite that for Long bias reversal views.

But most importantly... hard core Money Management at ALL times or you're doomed. Period.

agree with you we are at the lowest low ever and at the monthly third support line the retrace should not be less than 800 pips min

An 80 point difference does seem like a lot to be stopped out with, even for the spread on some Forward trades plus any guaranteed stops you may have placed. Id suggest calling your broker and ask them what happened. Good luck :-)

As I said things change. So things have changed for me in my entries and direction.

I was long earlier because Daily chart showed bull bars but because of today, price will probably close bearish on the Daily. Assuming price holds up, I'll be looking for shorts tomorrow as I see a bearish dark cloud on the Daily.

So, tomorrow we are all in agreement: SHORT

For today, I'm still looking for longs because price was stopped at 1.2270. I'll only short if price retrace long. Price must stay below todays high, which would give me lower lows.
