good news = decrease risk aversion = sold usd = buy eur, gbp....etc

it dont matter what or when fitch does it. its a shell game. they should of done it in 2008 when triciet was raising rates as the economy tanked. it caused EMU to loose market share that's not coming back. read about the "great fall" in the history books in 20 years. tick tock..

ok, this is crazy.

Someone has so much money that he can drive down Euro for 30 pips although
news were bad for USD, now covering.

What I learned from today ?
1. don't trade before FOMC
2. a stupid rumor can ruin the whole trading session

Luckily I realized strange PA before Housing stats, so I have not lost any money.

Guys I appreciate your fancy charting but believe me prices are made different in that times. The bounce at 1.2209 was just by chance because of sucess droping Euro after housing stats... .

Don't misunderstand me, the entry point was good for a retrace but the sucess rate has very little to do with the retrace we see now...

sorry to ask you this. how exactly risk aversion affects certain currency? I thought good US news=good for equity=less USD in hand=Euro goes up.

Next to the trend, stop losses, or hedge depending are the traders next best friend!

Your mistake is assuming bad news for US means bad news for USD.

what if this bounce stops 2242.7 area? just remember bad u.s. news is worse for euro. we buy their stuff. bad news means we buy less. this decreases euro demand verses usd.

when the risk increase investors try to find refuge in the usd or in the gold (commodities).... Then they sell other currencies or stocks

thanks...I for once forgot what my fx teacher taught me. It is the same with equities as well I guess. There will be less money going into equities on bad news as investors find refuge in USD/gold/comm....dow is down today.

Thats right. So we had bad news, bad for equity and led to dollar strength against almost all currency.
