I wrestled with whether or not to set up Sunday night. That was why I chose 4a (since there was still some problems floating around about preset 1) rather than preset 2 or 3. But me thinks Sunday may be for someone else....
1. data is very light so that is not going to define a trend
2. liquidity can be very thin even when there are no holidays and that makes for sporadic moves, spikes and whipsaws.
3. there is no fault in considering these things before setting up the ea.

Thanks jiva..part of doing business. I have always traded Sundays and generally it works out. I will probably continue to run ea on Sundays because this is the first time I have taken a full loss..still way ahead of the game. Are you hiding the magic number,title field, and comment field as Sky suggests?

IBFX took 2 sell trades with V5 on Sunday. Both closed with 140 pip losses. I have been running multiple versions of Geoff's EA's on three separate accounts (demo) for approx 2 weeks and this is the first loss I have had. THAT IS REMARKABLE. Thanks a bunch Geoff for the EA's and the thread and the contributions of all the members. Let's hope the overall success continues. I plan on discontinuing Sunday use of the EA's.

Since we introduced the 197 SMA filter I have not had one loss on my Alpari
live or demo accounts, which is surprising to say the least!

It is the support from members of this thread that is remarkable!

I was too, lucky enough and escape manually closing the trades as I felt

something is wrong + many didn't have any trades triggered at all.

Overall it's not a good Idea to trade on low liquidity day, like Sunday. IMHO

When Geoff mapped out the strategy for this EA, he took no consideration on Sunday candle or NFP or holiday in London or NY or Japan when backtesting. So, at least personally, I think Sunday candle is not an issue. We have seen on many occasions that you have trade and i don't, she has trade and he doesn't and those days are not Sundays. I remember last week, Geoff and Haishang are using Alpari LIVE and only one of them had trade using the same settings. Amazing huh? So, is Sunday candle and the so called thin volatility really affects the EA's thinking process? To me, i don't think so. It all boils down to WHICH broker you are with! Almost all manipulate price data feed on Sunday candle and put all the blame to the market. That way, they can make your deposit theirs "legally" and "openly". That's the down side of retail forex trading. If you don't like it, then, quit or do your own homework to find one broker you can trust.

This thread is getting so hot that at least 3 pages are added each day. IF there is a way that someone or somehow we can quickly look through the thread right from the start and compile the entries with trades which stated broker and result. That way we can see which broker gives the highest ROI and so on for info. I don't know if this can be done....

have been running the tester on 4a with different trailing stop settings.
6 months Dec. to present

looks like a curve there, trailing stop 13 most likely to be optimal...

will run on preset 1 now that the bugs are out for 1 year to see how it holds up.

I have been making a rough note of which brokers seem to trade accurately
most often, not a perfect way to do it but these "appear" to work best!

I'm thinking about Collective fx. They are a group of traders who got tired of the brokers and formed a collective and act as their own broker. They have limited membership but have been doing it for I think since 2005. Has anyone heard of them? I wonder why others have not followed suit. Sounds like a good idea to me. With as many people as we have.......

I've just loaded Tokyo v11. There is red line for Tokyo open at 1.00. Isn't Tokyo open time at 00:00 GMT?

No offence here but just making nonsense comment: maybe they are tired of getting ripped off by the brokers so they set up to save their own a**. In the process, they may found out that they can treat the others like they were treated by their brokers before ... ...

I general, if you really know what the brokers can do with MT4 behind the scenes, you will never do retail forex trading ... ...

Dear Geoff,

I have just downloaded your new version v11 with my appreciation.

Using tokyo_x 1.set. It shows: TP1 = 80
Using 2.set : TP1 = 22,TP2=50
Using 3.set : TP1 = 22,Tp2=50,TP3=80

I would think (in the 1.set), TP1= 22. Am I missing something?

If I may, Set 1 follows Ver4A which has default TP1=80 and TSL=9.
So there is nothing wrong.

Got today two trades triggered on TOKYO demo: FXDD and IBFX - all the other 15 brokers (see p. 307 post # 4595) didn't trade !

For the 2 trades on FXDD and IBFX - two losses !

After reading Geoff's earlier comment that the EA could consider data from Friday's closing (which he gave as a good reason not to trade on Sunday), I only allowed 1 of my 4 FXDD Demo accounts to trade Sunday & it took 3 trades to SL.

I did a lot of research over the weekend & found a forex Managed Account MT4 trader that recommended ATC ECN - do we have anybody trading with them now?

I'm opening a demo account with them now & I'll try to run 4 demo accounts with them along with my 4 FXDD demo accounts & compare the results.

I might have to install Win7 64bit, as I've run into problems before running too many terminals on 32bit XP.

I hear you. I know what you're saying. Could be so. They have a membership and you have to be put on a waiting list til someone leaves. Did you look them up online? It is interesting, to say the least. My thoughts were, if they can do it, others can do it. I know it's a dream, but they dreamed it first and at least there's a model to go by.
Anyway.......the stuff dreams are made of, right?

Not yet. Will mostly like give it a try at some point fairly soon. Am keeping it in mind. Are you making the changes? Let us know your findings pro or con.
Am working on something else.Trying different trailing stop settings.
appears over all results are significantly improved by giving a bit bigger tsl. At least in preset 1.
13 or 14 pips rather than 9 pips seems to be a bigger gain over all. Still running the tests will post results. They are back tests so grain of salt is recommended.
Would like feedback from Geoff and company as to why 9 pips was chosen. Seems to stop out prematurely.

After all we have no overhead to speak of, do not rent huge office spaces, pay employees, need tons of office supplies, use long distance phone services all day, etc, etc.. and in retail there is cost of inventory...
