DislikedHey GrandeHombre,
I have a question about the TRS_gmt_shift GMT offset in minutes: my VPS is in NY city, which is -4 hrs from GMT... should I set TRS_gmt_shift to -240 min? or + 1200 min? + 1200 would imply that NY is in the next day relative to GMT, and this is not correct. But I don't know whether your code will correctly handle negative offsets.

DislikedHehe. I am steering clear of this until the dust settles. I haven't the faintest idea what is going on.
You might be gaining some insight into why I avoid custom libraries. Conceptually, they are fantastic ideas. Realistically, if a coder cannot code them into the ea, then said coder is better off forgetting them.
I could indeed simply rename simone stuff and change the relevant line in the code. All that would happen is that those who cannot be bothered to read my posts here would miss the change, download the latest Simone and demand...Ignored
DislikedI doubt it. It seems the stop loss is too tight, but I find it impossible to discern exactly where The Real Simone actually places here stop losses. Asking questions in her thread is a waste of time; she doesn't answer - well, not me anyhow.
So, what I propose is this: move the stop beyond the hi-lo of the breech. Anyone with better ideas should turn into a birdy.

So, here is what all of the above means in plain English.
In other words, take an optimistic view. Instead of having a fixed TP, let the order run for as much as possible.
Take a bit of money on the way (at points z1, z2 and z3) but let the order go for it.
If it starts reversing, collect money whenever it reverses by more than the specified number of pips.
All of the numbers above are meant to be user-defined.
I am not advocating that this should be put into Simone, simply offering one view of how orders could be managed. I have seen many more ways of doing it, so you could pick (n)one of the many out there.
I thought that, since you have sooo much spare time in your hands and this forum has been soooooo easy to manage (cough cough choke), you can whip this up in a day! (or whip me out of the forum! )
Cheers,
Nick
ps: Alas, the EA is not in any shape to be made public and will be staying in its closet.
DislikedHi Steve,
I currently use an EA I wrote to manage orders, once I opened them (it does not open orders!).
Its purpose is to make my life less stressful, once an order has reached 10-15 pips. When that happens, I usually go and read a book and let the EA manage it.
Its rules are very simple[list][*]set a before-profit SL as soon as it detects an order it hasn't processed[*]if the order is in profit[*]move the SL to OpenPrice - x1, if order is +y1 pips in profit[*]move the SL to OpenPrice - x2, if order is +y2 pips in profit[*]move the SL...Ignored
DislikedHi Steve
for a few days now my thoughts and observations exactly !
the StopLoss set to The High or Low of the Breech, yet sometimes the Breech Hi/Lw can be to many pips, maybe with a Maximum SL setting ?
and I think a Trailing StopLoss, xx pips or xx candles Hi/Lw
another observation is T1 Take Profit, sometimes it seems many pips away,
eg:
EURUSD at the moment I have a Sell with a T1 / TP 99 pips away, so a Trailing would be great
