Sounds like an idea, maybe someone else would take it on, I have too many other things to do!

Everyone, correct me if I am wrong.

Throughout the discussion where people got confused about the GMT offset, actually what we are looking for is the Timezone of our broker.

If our broker's timezone is GMT+3, then we input 3 as the value of GMT offset in our EA, and so on.

If the above is true, I have modified an indicator someone posted earlier on, to reflect the broker's timezone. Just run the indi, and note the value for SERVER TIME ZONE, and put that value in your EA.

I am learning, and if I am wrong, just forget it..

This has been tried before I'm afraid!

I built it into the EA at one point but there is a problem with kernel32.dll,
it is a Windows DLL but some of our members use vps on Linux servers which
will not work with it.

any of the numerous straddle or news trading EAs will do this for you.

This is a problem that is un fixable i think each trader has to find the best solution locally in thier own time zone

Its because the EA trades just once a day that gives frustration to traders if yours doesn't trade but some one else's does your going to have to wait another 24hours before the action starts again...but thats how this EA works and cannot be changed.

I used to trade index futures on an 89 tick chart with a trading partner it was through the same institutional pooled account via the same broker we shared the same data feed ( interactive brokers) our PC times were syncronised and yet our charts and so our signals differed..BUT being day traders and taking 10-20 signals a day the profit loss was swings and round abouts.

I moved to Forex for the liquidity and what a shock to find unrelaible data which can differ from one broker to another

here we have many traders from all over the globe on different brokers with different time zones..it just not going to happen I think...sorry guys

I've been reading this thread for a couple of weeks, tried the EA on a demo account for a week, and decided to use it on my live account this whole week. I must say this EA is a lot more clever than me. Stupid me cut off the trades when I saw what was happening on my first live night. When I woke up in the morning and saw everybody going hurra, I decided I should trust your EA a bit more. Last night V9 didn't trade but V5a did place two short trades. I felt uneasy with them, so I closed one this morning with 0 profit and left the other live. And once again the EA was right, I should have left both !!
So I created an account here on FF just to thanks you Geoff for this superb EA !
Keep on the good work, this thread is a joy to read !

My real account is with Forex.com. You might want to give them a try. So far I like them and have had less trouble than with some other brokers.

I am doing the back-testing of V9 on Alpari UK demo acc. For every time, there is a big loss at 15th Mar 2010. Am I setting wrong?Do you get the same result?

You cannot do testing on Alpari UK today or tomorrow, the spread is too
high at the weekend, try again on Monday when spreads are normal.

MIG Bank is a good one to try but if you don't like registered Swiss brokers, I guess you can go with Tadawulfx.

Why not use IBFX. They have miniacc 0,01 lot = 1 cent/pip, You can test any strategi with a $50 account. And on there live acc they use 4 digit. On demo You can choose between 4 and 5 digit

remember a week ago someone posted a link to a program that will modify the spread in mt4...?

I just downloaded it (free) and it works, You just have to use the contact link and ask and they will send you the d/l link. for free...
Took me 2 minutes to un zip the file and set up. easy..
they include a pdf that walks you through it, but it is pretty simple...

here is the link again and if you want to run the mt4 tester over the week end take the few minutes to get this...
