I had no trades Version 8 (IBFX). I've checked everything and don't see anything not set correctly.

Quite a few brokers didn't trade, must have been a close call!

A few alarm bells went off in my head as I read the latest posts it reminds me of the driving range...
You go to the range and all you want to do is take 100balls and wack em as hard as you can down the fairway.

Where as what we should be doing is spending hours on the putting green because thats where the game is won...... but its boring !

The biggest killer of any account with a trading system with an edge..is to trade without money management..I know its boring to work it all out and trade 0.1 lot on a 5k account but doing so and risking only 3% will stop the emotions..

Please dont think you will ever get used to emotional pain and anguish by trading 10% of your account of 20% of your account a system with a stop loss of 140pips...because it wont happen and you will never be at ease with it.

I stated earlier in the thread Id be happy with 10% MM thats my pain threshold but my back ground is day trading where Im taking 10-20 trades a day..you get used to the up and downs even so 10% is my limit.

On a $500 account and risking 3% = $15 risk on the 1st trade which in theory is 1 micro account..$0.10c x 140 pip stop loss is $14.

BUT your win will be $0.10 x 40 ( on a tp hit of 25 and 15) = $4 gain on the account...boring as hell but safe.

If your trying to make $100's a trade from a small account beware you will not like the side effects of over leverging your account has on your stomach lining...and trading performance..

Dont mean to preach but whats the point of being an avid follower of a thread and a system..performing hundreds of back tests to prove results abeit past results only to pull the plug on the trade when its only 50% of the way to the stop loss...... It doesnt make sens

Hi mary4x,

I also use IBFX (demo) and Vesion 8. Also no trade. Looks like the ma10 and ma197 slopes did not agree; therefore, the EA did not trade.

I recorded these figures after the close of the 2200 candle.

2100 ma10 1.45315
2200 ma10 1.45314

Add to that it's not normal Market right now.. Look what is going on

on EU( From below Support 3 jump to Resistance 3? WOW.) Cable.. Some Intervention going on and short covering..

Huge volatility.. Even, if system is perfect that would cause

larger swings than usual.. I'm thinking maybe 140 SL even not enough

for those conditions, or better just wait till everything settles down a bit..

Check post #3688. The Alpari demo didn't trade, but the live account did. I think it evens out in the long run.

yes I took it down, by the time I posted it I felt others had covered most of the point so I did not want to clutter the thread and make it seem like I was beating a dead horse..

The point being, if you can't stand the S/L recommended in the EA you probably need to look at reducing your trade size...
From what I can gather geoff's EA has shown a +90% win rate.
It ain't the EA that needs adjustment....

What's the old line about giving 100 people instructions on a winning method and most will find a way to lose money anyway.....

One thing I do know for a fact. FX will either make you learn to change your ways or you will be shown the door.

I use interbank fx, and my live account traded, between camvcoo and simple gbpusd, we did quite well, despite the huge DD!!!

For some reason I have yet to figure out, my demo account did not trade...

Thank you will check it out.. But I think if I not confirm the trade on EA,

then it would not take any trades, which is probably fine, as I can

shoot trades manually from other chart later..

No only 1.. If you add a second it will stop ,remove, the first one.

you can open another chart of same pair and run another ea I believe.. some ea's might not get along together though...

but I believe you can open a new chart and set up a 2nd ea on it for the same pair within the same account.
Could be confusing for trade executions though for mt4.

I have something even better... I had V8 running on 2 live IBFX accounts. One traded and the other did not... Same settings....

Go Figure.....

And I was one of those that could not stand the heat and closed out with a 42 pip loss. 30 minutes later, it was in profit....

I noticed conditions were right for a trade but no trade had been triggered, so I reattached eav8. And the trade triggered right away.
