How it's gonna affect the new financial regulation to MBT forex? Less leverage? Less liquidity? Or it doesn't affect to you?
Ignored
Trad3r,

It won’t have any effect on liquidity. Obviously, we’re still waiting to see what the final new regulation looks like in terms of leverage.

Sorry if this a dumb question, but how do you place OCO orders in Metatrader in the first place?

That's correct. However, in MBT Metatrader if I have an OCO BUY order that has been filled, I will have one open BUY position and two SELL orders for my one SELL position. One sell order is for my "Take Profit" criteria and the other sell order is for my "Stop Loss" criteria. If either my "Take Profit" or "Stop Loss" criteria is met, then one sell order is filled and the other second SELL order is canceled (hence, OCO "One Cancels Other" order).

To add trailing stops to OCO orders in MBT Metatrader, I do the following:

Justin,

Is there something wrong with my version of Navigator, or are you only able to use GTC orders right now? I thought IOC (immediate or cancel) was also an option in the past (although I've never used it), but right now it doesn't seem to come up as an option for me, only GTC ... could it be that I need to update Navigator or something?

Also, I have noticed that there is no OCO (order-cancels-other) type order available in Navigator, is this correct or is it my version of the platform that is wacky? The options available are pretty much all the same regardless of whether I'm logged into a demo or live account.

Thanks!

FOREX orders can only be GTC. Any other time setting is for other asset classes. There are no "OCO" orders, just TTO orders which is about the same thing.

TTO orders are the same in that one will be cancelled when the other is triggered, but they're really only useful as take profit and stop loss exits. Unless I am doing it wrong, you are UNABLE to set one as a sell and the other as a buy. In other words, if you set a TTO order, both are either going to be a buy or a sell order. Which means you will always have one as a stop order and one as a limit order.

This is useless for anyone who wants to enter into a position using a stop entry (i.e., if the price moves up it enters LONG, and if the price moves down it enters SHORT). This is impossible to do with a TTO order, because both prices have to be for either BUY or SELL, but not one of each.

So unless there's something else I'm not seeing, the only way to do that kind order using Navigator is to set two SEPARATE stop entry orders, one for if the price moves up and one for if the price moves down ... but the point is, one will not CANCEL out the other, meaning you will be at risk of both getting triggered at some point, unless you are always at the screen.

New info about MT4 of this broker:

SL orders are Stop orders, or Market orders, only TP is limit orders. In other words, when your SL is hit, Mbtrading will go on a search where to close you, it doesnt care about the number you have put there.

Data feeds of NAV and MT4 differ. Sometimes A LOT. Beware - nobody really cares about MT4 there, its all about their platform NAV at first place.

I have already eaten enough of their MT4 and am in a speedy hurry for NAV

I'm using both, Nav and MT4, MT4 has no problems with data feed, only sometimes with execution, problems like you can't put an order or you can't close or modify an order, even when the RSA key is OK, you have to call to close your orders or close and open several times the Metatrader.... Nav have more order types, but it's true that sometimes has problems with data feed.

I think that TPs are also market orders in MT4, my trades that hit TP hardly never close at the TP price, sometimes the close price is against me and I lose pips, and sometimes the price is in my favour and I get more pips.

Regards.

Hi. I am new trader with MBTrading and so far very impressed with execution and service.
Though I am confused to how I place a sl and tp price on a market order. I looked through the manual and its very confusing. As a result, I have had to sit at computer entire time when I have an open market order.
In mt4 its very easy to set your sl and tp prices when you open a market order. It seems it can't be done in Navigator until after the market order is placed and you go in to change the order. This can be risky since a quick sudden spike in price can cause one to lose a lot on the trade.
How can one place their tp and sl prices on the template BEFORE placing an market order?
Thanks!
