Hello Justin.

I noticed something weird today. The pip value for CAD/JPY is different than other XXX/JPY pairs, as you can see in the picture. Shouldn´t they be all the same?

Justin, what are the conditions to access the MBT Quote API? I couldn't find them documented anywhere. Do you have to pay a setup fee like for the FIX API?

hi Justin,

I'm still having problems with the Navigator Bid/Ask displaying different prices from current market price. I downloaded Navigator Pro to see if possibly the new software would not have this issue, but it's doing the same thing.

Here's a sample screenshot. Tradestation and MBT MT4 are 135.07 and Navigator is 134.86. (I included a bmp in case the jpeg isn't clear enough to read)

Were you able to find anything out yet why they would be out of sync?

I have a very fast processor with 2GB of ram, so it's not that my computer can't run the software and it's not that Navigator is running slow, they're moving in opposite directions.

Thanks for your help on this.

Fud,

I've been trying to replicate this issue and we just can't seem to find the same problems internally or from other clients. I'll keep digging and let you know.

How often is this happening and which currency pairs?

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have Navigator open now and it's running fine. (I haven't had this happen during Asia and Europe session, only during NY Session). It is not a regular occurance, so far 4 times, and it's across all pairs I'm actively watching.

I understand the difficulties in replicating the issue internally if it doesn't occur regularly.

The screenshot I took has the timestamp "NYSE closes in 4:22:32"

Perhaps someone could check the Navigator and MT4 server price log for that time during Thursday's NY session. That way we could either verify or rule out the possibilty that the issue is originating server side beyond a doubt.

If it is an issue with how the Navigator software is running on my machine, I'd be very grateful if you had any suggestions what I can do to resolve the problem on this end.

Thanks and best regards,

Fudo

this happens a few times: when a market order is launched, MBT takes 1-2 minutes to act. Just called MBT dealers named Jason. His explanation is like that: a small order, not a standard $100k order defined by banks, is difficult to banks to accept just in time.

Hi,

Once i noticed a positive spread on Fxcentral ECN while at same time i saw a pretty higher spread on MBT ECN while former was 0.3+ (i.e Bid higher than Offers) in later i saw 1.10 pips, why this is so? can some one explain nature behind this? or MBT is just internal ECN with STP to their own pools?

This is not very uncommon that i have seen reversed spread with Fxcentral Institutional platform, but i never seen on other brokers offering with retail ECN claims

If a platform was 100% ECN, it should never be able to have a crossed quote. Most brokers are more ECN/STP like MB, which means they compile bank quotes and ECN quotes. An ECN quote would be a customer quote, and if a bank comes to that price or better, the customer ECN order should be pulled off the ECN and routed to the bank immediately. MB used to have these crossed quote conflicts, but their routing got improved so everything behaves more fluidly.

That probably is the issue - MT4 demo has been having periodical issue and I'm sure that translate to quotes lagging.

I'll keep exploring, but still not able to replicate it.

Justin,

Why do you run your trading day from 12est to 12est? This messes up indicators like pivot points. I use the metatrader 4.

It seems everyone else ends there trading day at the close of the US session.
