i curious on what European bank is loaning money..
Jitters over eurozone stability won’t end any time soon. This week the Spanish government bailed out Cajasur, a savings bank hit by the bursting property bubble. A state-financed rescue package for the ailing savings banks could end up costing EUR35bn, reckons Standard & Poor’s – adding to the public debt pile.
The broader worry is that eurozone banks have swept their bad debt problems under the carpet. The IMF points out that the eurozone is well behind the US in terms of writing off bad assets. Wolfgang Munchau in the FT highlights a report estimating that the German Landesbanken (regional wholesale banks) could have to write off up to EUR800bn.
Former Bundesbank head Karl Otto Poehl said last week that the huge bail-out package for southern Europe was designed to protect French and German banks from having to write down their debt holdings. Given the opaque state of the banking system, investors, as Munchau puts it, “have good reason to treat the eurozone in the way they should have treated subprime CDOs”.
Be afraid.
Nice final two words to the article. It seems that the European banks are not writing down the bad debt and hence they are willing to lend even more money hoping that it will all come good in the long run

Eu will go 1.17 or 0.5 no problem , there is no hurry in doing so but there remains lots of dues upside right now & when it will mature enough it go , I believe this , still many months to wait , may be 2 months for 1.17 , 4 months to the lowest low 0.5 to 0.0005 .

WTF??! 1.17 might be possible but below parity is absolutely out of the question that won't happen. At least not within the next year and the debts of the US. At least the EU does something against their debts. Markets tend to like that. I've read the Euro is used for carry trades how? Holy cow, the coming short squeeze will be huge. I still think the ECB will hike in Q3 or Q4 this year.

made a few thousand, lost a couple of thousand, made it back, and on the verge of losing it again. Hhhmmmm. At least the Bass were biting!
Anyway, hedge into the upcoming holiday weekend. holding more longs than shorts, spread from 2430 all the way down to 2276. Same in the ej also. I'm looking aka hoping that we range a few weeks before we continue to Gators numbers. Would be nice. Well Everybody have a good weekend, and eat plenty of ribs for me also, (if you don't eat pork then eat plenty of fish for me also). And stay safe. See you guys off and on here throughout the weekend!
