It’s not reliable to use text messages (sms) - I tried to use them and they were always delayed big time.

I signed up with them and put a few prices in. So far the price has crossed them all and I haven't recieved an alert. Do you use them Donnie? If so... Does it work? Is there a big delay?

Maybe it hasn't wored yet for me because I'm a new account. ???

look its works fine for me and this for years yes u have a delay but its marginal any way dont use it uf u dont like it. I love it as I can get away from my computer and sleep at night no problem. Maybe you phone network provider is slow or something else. I remember that in Australia with a certain network your sms had taken ages to be received...

I have not tried it no. I just heard about them awhile back and had it buried in my bookmarks.
Actually, I may have tried it but I just always fall back on the sound alerts cause I'm usually close by my computer at home or office.
The phone alerts maybe quicker?? I don't have the iphone or any of the fancy stuff, my phone just sends texts and makes calls..I don't pay for all the picture message, internet, media stuff.

The iphone is looking more enticing with the oanda app but I just won't pay 100 bucks a month for a damn phone bill.

this can also be a common issue depending on carrier/signal for both parties sending and receiving

edit:example could be that price feed differs by 2-3 pips or whatever so your screen shows the price but theirs doesn't til price moves another few pips...

well I just woke up and had only a short night. I wouldt say its a boring Asian day as you had some PA there. Some really nice short setups. Right now I am waiting for a break of this rising tl for a short, I have this A$$ feeling again that we will get some big moves today. Germany France Switzerland and Canada closed could be thin with liquidity hence high volatility .....

FOREX: The dollar was slightly stronger in Asia in a "risk-off" trading
environment, which saw the euro lose ground. The euro started the
session with a brief rise to $1.2585, after closing near $1.2577 in NYC.
It then drifted lower through the early part of the morning, slipping to
a $1.2481 low in subdued trade. The pair crept back up after that,
gaining to around $1.2505 as risk sentiment showed some signs of
improving. Dollar-yen meanwhile spent the morning trading between Y89.75
and Y90.39 range, driven by 2-way trading interest in the pair. Bids
near the low, around Y89.70/50 provided support while offers at Y90.50
and Y90.70 limited the gains. Ahead of the European open, dollar-yen
was at Y90.13, off where it had started the day, around Y90.25, but
still higher than where it had ended in New York on Friday, around
Y89.82.

you have to put in your email providers smtp ex. smtp.secureserver.net
than your user name and password.

very true it depends how ANAL you are about alerts and prices, I usually have a nice puffer zone in front of the area where I want to trade, to give me time to reach the computer when I am out the house and to eliminate the price difference issue...

try this, i think this guys right..figure out that smtp address for your email provider in your email "settings" or "preferences" "tools" something like that...

With the help of that gmail screen shot I was able to set it up on my MT4 finally! I recieve the email quick also.

The market is definitely in a buy mentality this early morning. Everytime I get a sell signal nothing happens. As soon as a buy signal comes in it pops up 10-15 pips fast.
