The earlier versions were only steps towards the latest version v7a which is the safest and most stable to date.

Some, more experienced users prefer the older versions because they allowed for more adjustments and could therefore be used to test other pairs and different start times but they were aware of the downside and could use their experience to compensate for it!

I am sorry for your losses but the thread does contain all the information to make the right choice!

The default is 140 SL.

The defaults are not arrived at by accident, they are derived from the MT4 optimisation tool and will give the best overall profit which also means the fewest losses over the test period.

They may not suit everyone, 140 SL per order is large but it allows for those occasions when the Tokyo market goes against us and we have to suffer a drawdown while we wait for the market to move back to the trend specified by our strategy.

So far the strategy has worked and because we use 197 SMA we are always trading with the main trend which is something I always prefer to do!

Everyone else: If your account is likely to be wiped out by less than ten (make that 50) consecutive losses, you need to really brush up on your risk management.

After I switched to the v7a with micro lots til I got over the shock. Then with the 140 SL the losses are smaller. The profits too but it works til you get your emotional feet back on the ground. There's also the 3 Order v. It's v7 with a third order.
I feel for you but you'll do well, I'm sure.

I have deleted the adx and will now only use v7a and 3 trade. Some of us need to learn the hard way I guess.

As one or two people have expressed an interest in using v4 the single order version,
I decided to take a fresh look at it as it has been neglected.

I have added the 197 SMA filter and multiple re-tries on the OrderSend function.

This is the best I can do with it!

If you just want to use the EA, download the .ex4 file only

Yeah..'that' happened.. Like mine.. But the v7adx i use it on my demo.. I run 3 MT4's, together on my subscribed vps. 2 MT4's for standard and micro, another for demo.. I put all versions ever existed in this thread, into my demo..

The results for today :
V4 : no trade
v5 : HIT 140SL
V6 : HIT 140SL
V7 : no trade
V7a : no trade
V7 ADX : HIT 140SL

Today's results were the first losses since these EA's first run weeks ago..
