You start getting it. Good job! That's exactly how I feel, i.e. "Hey, it can't be that easy!" The hard part is to convince yourself to actually stop when you hit your target, since after a while you may become careless and give it back.
Your trade (damn I missed that this morning) actually very nicely demonstrates my point of getting profits early. After you hit your TP the price turned south again.

Here is another trade. I beleive this is with the rules, though I am begining to wonder if my trades are counter trends as I seem to catch them before they re-reverse if that makes sense.

This was on the CHF/JPY which I am really starting to like.

Script entered me a 15 pip TP, however I got concerned around the RN and closed out for 10 pips. But that makes 37 pip this morning.

I am done...... back to the simulator for me.

Looking at price now and my comments in the chart. I was correct to get out. Price has continued against my original position very strongly. Look at the 5min chart to see the reversal signals.

I need to start paying more attention to this.

They have taken away my indecision....... really, it's as simple as that. I also decided a few days ago to simply take the pips when on offer. I beleive my entries have improved, but my exits were, last week, appalling.

Some may say that I missed a 100 pip move and yeah.... I did and probably a few of them! But I am pip positive and if I can take something away from each trade, then it's just about quitting when you hit target OR looking for the next entry.

They also allow far easier management of the trade. It's quicker and easier to move to BE if you need to, it's quicker and easier to move the SL to trail price if you need to. You don't have to try and TP AND then try and move a SL up. TP will do it's own stuff and the SL you just drag across.

If you are not using them because you can not get them to work then I would personaly spend a whole day working on them. Them and a mentality shift really have made a huge difference!

I can repost what I have if that helps. I don't use the risk adjuster as that was messingthings up for me, so I adjust the global lot size (F3) when I need to. The others work once you stop using the risk adjuster (assuming it was that that was causing problems)

I think the reason why I am starting to like this pair, and I am sure others are the same, is that it respects almost all the MA's and the RN's. If you look at it, something always happens around them.

Couple that with taking quicks pips, which is where the scripts help me, and then you get some decent trades.

Very interesting constrainment on the the top of the bars (GU, M15, 35/50 MAs). If this holds it may mean a big move downwards. I finished trading by taking 3 15 pips shorts from those MAs.

Hey all,

I have taken the liberty of re-writting the scripts as they were not working as well as they should have been.

I have renamed them too, so they appear in better order in the navigator.

I have literaly copied and pasted them and either added or removed some lines. I do not know who original created them, but where there were credits in the coding they have remained, where there was not, there are still none.

The reason for creating new ones was to get them in a better order for me personaly, but also, as they were not opening the correct trades all the time, I have tested this now and if you double click on two different opens, ie a 15TP and a 30TP they do both open. I have not yet had it fail.

Just remember to change the global settings if you wish to split your orders.

I have the following scripts if people want them (they are set for a 5 digit broker - but I can tell you how to change them - it's easy enough).

Please note, the buy and sell scripts work off the global variable (F3) settings for lot size. So you will need to adjust this to ensure you get the correct lot traded.

1a Buy @ 12SL & 15TP
1b Buy @ 12SL & 30TP
1c Buy @ 12SL & 50TP

2a Sell @ 12SL & 15TP
2b Sell @ 12SL & 30TP
2c Sell @ 12SL & 50TP

3a Move SL (this moves all current SL's on the chart)
3b Move TP (this moves all current TP's on the chart)
3c Move SL to break even. PA needs to have moved sufficiently far from your entry

4a ECA Emergency Close All. Close all active trades on the account
4b/c/d These have not been tested as they close various trades across different pairs.

5a DCO Delete chart objects. This deletes the messy arrows, trendlines and little marks that your trades leave behind. (I have not tested this to see if it removes standard trendlines or SR.... so be careful)

A_Setlot size. This was in the original set from Clay, I am not sure if it is needed or not, but you have to adjust this so that the others do not defer to it.

Good work! Feel free to post them in this thread.
With this opportunity here is what I use: It's an EA that gives you visible lines for TP, SL, BE which you can move by hand and the EA automatically modifies the order.

Hi Lee, just wanted to comment on the chart you posted!.... i took that trade however, as posting charts skills are not great! will use yours!... my entry was below the 50ma as soon as price closed underneath it, i entered a short, and I exited the trade off that bounce on the 1hr 35!!... was not brave enough to enter a counter trade.... All in all a nice 42 green pips!! (price did go on to do more... but still struggling to manage my trades.)

My entry was a combination of the dance rules and Phil's rules,

but a very nice catch Lee.

Ping-pong would have been explained later by Clay (advanced technique). The advantage of this is that you can trade it when the market is in sideways mode. I have done 3-4 of these trades with good results. The best is when the 35/50 are well enough separated to give you some space for the trade. My trades were on the H1 timeframe. In H1 when the 35/50 lines separate they give enough space to take 10-15 pips per trade.
That's all the experience I have and it would be nice to have more info on this. If Endroute could help us with this one, it would be great.

P.S. Lee, if you could email Clay and ask a couple of hints about ping-pong it would be nice so that we can learn some new tricks in this thread.

By the way, I don't think you post too much. In fact, it's very instructive to "look over the shoulder" of someone else. You get to see their trades and try to understand their thought process. I've really picked up a lot of good info.

And if you're in communication with Clay, please pass along to him that there are a lot of people on this thread that really appreciate his insights and think he got a pretty raw deal.

Very interesting Nixie and a GREAT breakout trade.

Can I ask two things:

1. Did you take your entry off the 15minute chart on the limited retest, or off the 5minute which had a nice bounce off the 10ema?

2. why you didn't close and take the reverse? On the 1hr, it was a valid entry, at least I beleive so.

This is something Clay raised about 2/3rd into the original thread. The ability to close and immediately reverse.

I do post a lot, and I am always worried about it, so it's nice to know that at least some of it is usefull

Okay, now, I am not familiar with compression, but I have compressed these scripts and, I think, put them in one file. At least it looks that way when I extract them to the desktop.

They go into the experts>scripts folder in your MT4 folder. Once inserted, you will need to close the platform and start over.

If you have a 4 digit broker (this is NOT my auto link), you will need to edit the buy's and sell's and remove the extra didit.

ie a stop loss of 120 (5digit) becomes 12.

The only thing I am unsure of is the risj script. I do NOT beleive that it will interfere with the standalone scripts. But shout if things are not working like they should

Be aware though...... I am a complete novice when it comes to scripts.

If you are going to start placing multiple orders please remember to go to the global settings (F3) and change the 'order size' to what you need.

example, if you were placing 1.0 lots and you now want to place three trades at a time (inlcuded) then you would need to change the 'order size' to 0.3 which will leave you a little short.

I'm sitting this week out playing with the simulator on my demo account. Will give the scripts a try and become thoroughly familiar with them before even thinking about using on a live account.
