V7 versus V7a seems V7a to have 2 s/l in comparison to V7. Does anyone share the test results with me which he/she has?

First of all, let me say thank-you for sharing with the world your EA.
Your humility, grace, selfless and professional attitude in dealing with questions simply have my utmost admiration.
I stumbled upon this thread yesterday and am currently in page 90 trying to grasp as much as I can because I am really excited to try this robot out.
I am a newbie in forex and started my live trading (manual) only 2 months ago basically with discretionary trading system. EA is totally new to me and I have not the slightest idea how to even backtest one on my MT4 although I will definitely want to learn, hopefully with the help of you seniors here.
Although I am now only at posts of the V6 era, I thought I chip in now since the your post above touches on similar issues I have had in my mind.

1) In your first post you mentioned there is a SMA(197) whose slope must equal that of SMA (10) . Is this still valid? I ask because it seems everyone is talking only about SMA (10) to determine long or short.

2) I would like to start with trading live manually this method (given the lack of knowledge in EA at this juncture) concurrently with a demo with your EA. While I can visually see the slope of SMA(10) [and depending on answer to question 1, also SMA(197)]to identify the trend, how would I 'identify' the conditions that the M15 fractal and M5 fractal like in your EA to make the exact entry?

3) I am with IBFX. Since it doesn't allow hedging what happens if the signal generate a buy and sell within the 23GMT candle?

4) When using EA, when should it be placed on the chart ( say in a new week). Must it be before GMT21 or is it okay to place it before GMT23 (this is considering Tokyo opens at GMT0 and Start Candle = GMT23)?

I am currently with IBFX and it's MT4 files are kept in Crogram FilesInterbank FX Trader 4.
In this situation, I am able to open both my demo and live accounts on my monitor at one time. What I do is click on my Live Account in the Navigator window to get log in my Live Account. Then I open MT4 again to bring up another platform to the monitor and this time click on the Demo Account on the Navigator Window to get log in to my demo account.
IBFX guys told me that I cannot run EAs in both live and demo in this situation and advised that I download the MT4 files into a new folder
(for example into Crogram FilesInterbank FX Trader 4-Demo). My demo account should be logged in from the files in this new folder.

I would like to know if any seniors here who have traded both demo and live with the EA can confirm that this is indeed the requirements?

I think the settings used on v7 were better than the settings that I used with v7a, the final profit came out with similar figures over the year but, I think the higher TP1 and TSL were compensating for the additional loss.

So, please use v7a with the old v7 settings!

Mmm! V7a should not have traded today, with the 197 SMA in a downtrend it would certainly not produce a long trade!

Something wrong there I'm afraid!

I would definitely keep two MT4's in separate files, at very least this way each will login automatically when you bring them up!

Hi ertorque

1. V7a uses both 10 SMA and 197 SMA, some more experienced members use v5b which only uses 10 SMA to generate a trade but there is more chance of a loss with that strategy.
I prefer v7a as the safer option and I will only give support on the latest versions.

2. The EA has to use indicators that are available to it, in this case fractals on M15 and M5 are used but manual traders usually have their own methods for finding an entry point.

3. As the EA uses 2 moving averages that must agree, there is no chance of the EA trying to produce a buy and a sell in the same bar.
Also, the EA cannot produce more than one order within a 1 hour bar.
Hedging is not prevented in this EA, if a trade is not closed within the day a new order could be produced in the opposite direction next day.
I would recommend that you do not use US based brokers as I have no intention to make the EA to comply with FDA rules.

4. You can place the EA on your chart at any time before 23:00 GMT but you need to keep your computer running as long as there is a live trade.
You can switch your computer off once trades are closed and turn it back on before 23:00 GMT the next day.
