I'm not an economist. But is he saying they want a strong euro? I thought they'd be able to sell more Volkswagens etc...?

It is a monday - without much news expected at the moment. It looks as if the moves are a bit overdone for now.

Open price EURUSD was 1.2360/65 a few hour ago - when first Banks opened in Pacific area.

Highest was 2361 until now

Lowest was 2341 until now

Check out gold price! I saw a flash on my chart and when I looked up price was at the bottom of this spike down, Could be from the weekend and might not have loaded yet, But all my currency charts on this broker have been ticking for an hour.

I can tell you exactly when we officially started to trade the EURO as it is quoted nowadays. That was Monday - Jan. 04, 1999 !

The pair USD/DEM was finished to be offered in Forex market via REUTERS and BRIDGE and BLOOMBERG DEALING STATIONS a few weeks later.

Although the Deutsche Mark was still circulating at this stage - via INTERBANK it was switched earlier.

I even remember the range without looking on any charts - it is deep in my mind - was around 1.18 - 1.1915 dancing on early European Session.

Thanks, so I assume all open positions were simply closed. Since people started talking about the possibility of the dissintegration of the euro, I was wondering what would happen.

I can't believe I'm about to say this...but I actually agree with Sky here. I would wait for this to pullback, and then look for downtrend resumption. You can likely get a much better price on a short position.
