1.2328 is lowest level reached by E/U in the last 4 years. It bounced from this level last time.

Have a good weekend everybody. Made significant amount of money this week and already made the witdrawal. Saving some for vacation in Europe(its cheaper now right? - Greece keep popping up ) No open position over the weekend. Time to reorganize my trading desk.

For this i'm eternally grateful to God and to the wonderful nation called Forex Factory.

Nice, let it go to 1.18, and then to 3.0 in 2011. That would be very nice indeed to get in an hold. 18,200 pips LOL, that's about 1,500 a month while drinking pina coladas.

It looks more likely that uno will be right about 1.18, possibly even lower to 1.16 - as things will get more messy in the next few months as spain will likely pullout bigger cat than Portugese

I hope so...then when the EZ crap settles down, man, whoever gets in at the bottom and holds it's going make a small fortune with just a few standard contracts, sooner or later the dollar will have to collapse for the US to be able to pay it's sovereign debt. If Uno is right on both counts, there is a lot of money to be made.

Uno is fulla shit. Gosh, remember just 8 months ago when all the blab was about how the USD's status as the world's reserve currency was in jeopardy? China making noise about the weak dollar? Russia selling off her $ reserves? Don't hear that anymore, do we?

What is there to replace Daddy Warbuck? Nada. Europe is a basket case and the overvaluation of the euro was based on lies, all coming to light now. If the EMU breaks apart there will be some healthy states, none of them much bigger than California. Gold standard? You better hope not. The Chinese? Please.

The USA has many of the same problems that the EU does, but of course, there are notable exceptions:

- the USA is a unified nation; the EU is a fledgling experiment and the unity based on a common currency is starting to look pretty shaky
- the USA is the world's banker and no other entity has the institutons that can supplant that position

An extended period of USD strength is on tap. Anybody who is predicting E/U at 3.0 by next year is delirious at best.

You might be right, but what is the plan to pay this? Everytime I refresh the page it goes up. So what's the plan?

and with this financial reform crap, a lot of banks are just going to go offshore, nobody is going to tell banks what to do. The US is a service economy, if financial services go offshore, jobs will follow there for americans moving abroad, less tax revenue.
And you deport all the illegal mexicans, well that's a big cut to the GDP and they pay taxes even if their illegality here, so less tax revenue. So maybe Uno is not so delirious.

I am not saying they are going to crash and burn, but inflation will be the only way to pay the debts,,,,,you will have more business moving offshore b/c of too restrictive laws....and deporting all the illegals or less immigration...less growth or negative growth...less taxes collected...then you have the socialized health bill, hugely costly...a war that will never end(How long have the Jews and Arabs been fighting)...a very weak dollar will at least help with the debt servicing.
A weak dollar is the salvation not the damnation.
Short and Mid term dollar gets stronger...longer term, steady weaking dollar, much weaker than it's even been.
That's the only way, unless there is plan, but what's the plan???

US banks are going nowhere. Name one major US financial institution that has done so, or has even threatened to do so. Financial reform is not crap; its a dire necessity. Banks will survive it and thrive.

The US is by no means a service economy. It is an expansionist economy that has migrated alot of manufacturing overseas, but huge manufacturing base remains. A huge base of technological innovation is retained.

And anybody who thinks illegal immigrants are leaving is dreaming, and you better hope they don't wake up. Because that means that shit has got bad enough that white Americans are out there picking fruit and digging ditches by hand, and they don't/won't/can't do that now. And anybody who thinks they do/can/will has not bothered to look around at the real world very hard.

We shall see where it is in a year. What's the plan to balance the budget? All I see is a growing deficit with no plan to decrease, how long can they keep it up?

National debt is currently close to 90% of GDP and growing...history shows that every time it reaches 90% in any country a collapse occurs each and every time.
What's the plan? Things cannot be changed overnight, they need a plan and nobody is planning anything.

It's not like the US is the only country with major debt problems, and it's not the only one that can, will, and already is devaluing its currency.
