just wanted to share some thoughts with you about a stage i imagine most of you have all been through. i started trading about a year ago, maybe a little less, started on demo and recently moved up to real.

it's taken me about 5 months to finally realise MM in its true sense. i used to play with £1/pip. using 15-20 pip stop losses i found myself getting stopped out. im a student so have quite an active lifestyle as it is with lectures and sport and so finding the perfect entries isnt that easy with limited time.

i've recently just moved down to 50p/pip. although the wins are significantly less than before, i have found ive been able to judge moves much easier by enlarging my stop loss.

there's a perfect example from today.

i went short at 13300. normally my SL would have been 13320 hoping the trendline brought it down. it didnt. because i was able use 50p/pip i was able to enlarge my SL to 13340 and i am still in the game with a good potential risk/reward still intact.

sounds like such a rookie thing to say, but that kind of thing can make a massive difference. might take a little longer to get the cash you wanted in the short-term, but an increased amount of winning trades in the long-term will really pay-off.

Getting closer to my first entry. The market has been rising on reduced buying pressure. The price increased most likely occuring because of short covering as speculators wind down some positions before the weekend.

Back , now everybody doing today . just start at & above 1.3326 selling again as anitrend and as not thing there going the great trend change really going to happen & bear status remain intact.
Price at 1.3408 the bear may starts loss the status weekly if break & hold or 1.3341 weekly end as doji to pave the change.all weekly gain down almost lost .confirmation ofcourse much above .

In H1 after buy setup perfection instead of retracement continued as another rally up & hope retrace soon though .
still i am bearish , rest market to decide.

I dont see any news today to came down euro/usd to that levels again!

Friday, end of month. Weekly and monthly charts in red. Main trend is down, five month in a role. Last three days were green and cut bear monthly bar more than 50%.
Shouldn't be logicall with all the uncertainty to see a big profit taking than sends the pair down in the next few hours???? In THREE days market erased a 50% month of advance.
On the other hand I see last 2 months bar's difference between lowest and close price are 189 and 240. Actually we have 220 atm. Right in the middle.
This theory could easily be just sh*t... don't know, just felt like sharing...

Welcome rookie. Looks like you may have been stopped out nonetherless.

My advice: Never move your stop further away from the initial point. If it was wrong, it was wrong.

Today was a reaction up day, yet to be determined if a trend change day. Shorts today should be scalps only. Small pips, small SL.

Good luck with your trading and your studies, (and sports, and girls (if that's your thing)).

I have a theory too Mauro.

Retracements in trends are often more violent than the trend itself. That is what we could have seen in the last few days.

Here goes your stop loss. Trading is a full time job man. unless you play large tf and have small lots and laarge stop losses, you might as well send a check to your broker every month it will save you time

haha ye i don't necessarily agree with you about today being for scalps only though? that was a good shorting opportunity on the 4hr trendline, ive no regrets in taking it and im sure a number of other people did as well on here?

i do my best to keep up to date, if anything it spurs me on to keep up with the news as daily and keep a grasp of the fundamental side. around exam time i steer well clear as i agree with you, if you take it on full-time, theres no point. but i have 5 hours a week lectures and a bucketload of holidays... enough time there

Im gonna stay flat for now, I had too many weekends and mondays full of nerves because played last half of the Friday and don't need that anymore

Better calm profit than a nervous one

Wish you all best luck, but my prediction is still valid, short 1.3440 after a gap on monday, and then, no matter what happens with Greece, 1.14 this year

I wish I would have kept more powder dry for this spot.. I just wasn't a believer in this move up.. I should have been trading the charts instead of my "feelings" .. This song also works for the thin-skinned on here to.. LOL
