Isn't this just about the time they pop out a downgrade?

Maybe it will break up for a bit if we can go a day without one

[Dow Jones] Not everyone agrees with a bailout for Greece. David Rosenberg, chief economist at Gluskin Sheff says to actually come to the aid of Greece, especially after all the accounting gimmickry, would send a signal to investors that the best way to make money is buy the debt of the most risky and highest yielding enterprise because there will always be a bailout. "Rewarding bad investment decisions is a huge mistake," he says, noting that Greece has been in default in its recent 200-year history almost half the time. So Greece defaults, bondholders who knowingly bought these instruments knowing the historical record went for the yield and simply do not deserve a taxpayer-supported bailout of any kind, he says.

Dow Jones)--Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney said Greece's debt crisis is a serious situation but there are "productive" negotiations ongoing on a bailout package and "we have expectation that they will be fulfilled."

But he warned that if issues in the euro zone area aren't resolved, it would be negative for growth in Canada.

He said debt situation of countries is the "largest risk to securing global recovery." He said there are limits to fiscal stimulus and that countries have to be on a sustainable fiscal path.

He said countries should get their fiscal houses in order and warned that global interest rates can rise if they don't take the right steps.

It s becoming boring. If the markets won t buy eu bonds, then what will they buy ? Ukrainian bonds ? Taiwanese ? Come on , get real. If Germany will not be able to sell bonds, or France for that matter - which had a less dramatic crisis than others -, or Italy or Spain which are the third, fourth, sixth and seventh world economies then nobody will be able to sell anything and the markets will trade peanuts butter

With or without lube? Disturbing.

The attempts to keep this afloat are cracking me up. Efforts at an "orderly decent". Yet it will be interesting to see whether they can maintain the brake tapping, or whether it gets overwhelmed.
