Thanks so much for your response to my post. I actually feel kind of like an idiot for not looking at that daily this morning..I've been clicking between 15 m, 1 hr, 4hr and my weekly every few hours but I hadn't looked at daily since last night at about 11 pm our time (PST).
Unless I'm over 75 pips or so in profit which I wouldn't let run that far on Friday anyway, I won't leave open over the weekend.

That gap up a few weeks ago would have hammered me if my broker didn't honor my stops..

Also, I'm curious to know...because you called it a "shake out" and the bar hasn't closed..

If we manage to fall 100 pips or so before market close today, that bar would no longer be a "shake out" according to VSA or am I wrong in this thinking?

Nevermind my post Malc, I went back and re-read and stared at your charts some more.. I see you were talking about yesterdays down bar and it's volume in relation to the three previous bars before that one...

Today's bar has nothing to do with it, right?

Mal why do you say this is a shake out and not a retrace? Was the volume not enough on the way down?

I am short, and with a less than perfect price.
I think they are punishing the people who want to close out any positions before the week-end, making them pay as much as possible to avoid the week-end risk.

Here's a scary 1 hour chart. Perfect reverse head and shoulders, so are they handing us a perfect set-up to go long? The contrarian in me says, "They usually don't make it so easy."

We shall see.

Last time the market showed its tracks like this, I waited for close to short looking for 50 pip drop at the open. That time the market gapped up over 100 pips and didn't look back. Fortunately I was hedged and came out neutral. Now, I wonder if I should try the same strategy again, especially as the price has broken a trendline. hmmmmm. 1.3408.

they did that the last few weeks whenever they delivered a lower low.
my lt-bias is short, whatever market does in order to make people believe eu is a kind of cool currency. this move could lead up again to 1.38-1.39, who knows. eu is a glasshouse, not only atm, but in its basics. any fart will break it... they're luring people to go long big-time, and then they sell all the shit.
the piigs are the make or break excercise for ez, reducing its size by a single country would make ez as vulnerable as hell, because any country wanting to enter ez would reject its appliance, if they were sane.

Ok , you win this week but still I am bull side in gold & game is not over yet ,even go higher level and always will short till convinced. I can afford to loose here if any in future.

now some profit taking... i m happy with my week. i was both short and long, prudent, never risking too much. yesterday night in the asian session something awkard happened, my fuse went off, laptop shut itself off, missed the alarm, the spike down, entered wrongly, missed and lost some 50 pips... the went long today prudently around 1.334 and recovered everything + green... will just leave some longs over the week end small positions

it will not close 100 pip lower , all day dipos have been bought and s&p / dj have hit 52 weeks highs
