Every man and his dog, as far as I'm aware, does everything possible to avoid using bridging loans because the cost of bridging is horrendous as far as interest repayments are concerned....and I don't imagine that it's much different for the...

Yes they do indeed have other bad apples, no question about that. However, the other bad apples will no doubt be expecting the same soft-cok treatment that Greece has been getting, and where will the money come from? The needs of many outweigh the needs of the few......cut out the dead flesh to save the whole.....don't drag everyone down with you.....etc etc etc

They are damned either way, and seeing that a lose/lose situation is apparent, better to take the lesser of the two evils.

you know, we have kind of a bad history here in germany. once there was a man who said, "if they ain't strong enough, they deserve to die." history repeating atm... in many, many areas.
the last few days i frequently came across the rumor that germany is thinking about quitting ez/eu... i haven't found any source for that, and i searched hard, so i don't think there ever was such a thought.
the ez is about to implement a totalitarian monetary regime in ez, and as i thought out loud yesterday i think, greece might be a patsy for others in ez to see which consequences are going to arise if they do not obey... for now, they a re handling the greek problem with velvet gloves, but it doesn't have to stay that way.

i'm curious to see how greece is going to play out.

the advantage is that export is booming with the lower eu, and even tourism might take a profit from that, but for how long? we cannot compete to asia, and we will loose in the end.


btw: the low for today is 1.3201, and i would have thought this would get much, much more support than a measly 40-pip bounce.

I see the eventual collapse of the EEC as just a matter of time. The EEC is a great idea....but so is communism. USA works because the somewhat independent states are governed by a central body....the federal government in other words.

The Soviet Union kind of worked for a while due to Moscows iron fist ruling the member countries. In the end, as we know, it failed.

The EU will fail because there is no central governing body, and none of the EU members would tolerate the very idea to start with.....you said so yourself a while back.

The 'United States of Europe' is a great idea......the 'United States of South America' is a great idea......the 'United States of Asia' is a great idea too, but none of these ideas will ever fly for more than a few fleeting hops.

It's an impossible dream that is doomed to failure....imo!

But it was said in jest. If I wanted to get paid for this I could knock out a website. In fact I did in 2007. It's on my hard drive. It put it on the web nad dudes went crazy for it. I wouldn't come down on the price, then I locked the site because someone said it sounds like Adams theory and I only wanted to raise enough capital to start live account.
