there is no such thing as "real-time rates" over the weekend. Firms establish weekend bench mark rates they are willing to exchange with you for but it is not indicative of market rate or how the market will open.

Here's the play by play and expect 300 point 61.8 fib trace to of the move down from 3pm on the 14th?

First I want to say, NEVER take a trade if you are not convinced yourself you should take it. It doesn't matter what anyone else has to say, the trade is only valid as long as it sticks to your own strategy, rules, experience, and preferred style of play. Never forget...you put 2 people together to watch the same chart using the same strategy and most often they see something different. The ones who succeed in this business are the ones who are willing to make mistakes (to learn from them later) and willing to take trades, win or loss as long as at least experience is gained (and analysis comes later, what went wrong, what went right). The purpose of this forum is not to seek validation for your own trades, it is only to compare perceptions about what the market is doing, and try to learn the methods of others as they may have beneficial insight.

Secondly, last week was crazy. Crazy because of earnings for the major US companies. Crazy because of the volcano that affected travel on a global level (which in turn leads to money lost for the person taking a vacation to the airline providing the trip). Crazy because FINALLY, someone stood up against the giant Goldman Sachs and revealed to the world one of the crimes they have been committing for years. The consequence of this is, traders are shaken up, from the highest levels (banks, hedge funds, etc) to the lowest levels (you and me). Shaken up not because of the news, most of us know of the crimes they have committed, but shaken up that someone "involved" finally made one of their crimes public. From a fundamental point of view, there are too many variables at this time in play that traders must consider.

Thirdly, from a technical analysis point of view, the Eur/Usd did nothing of note last week. The market gapped up and the rest of the week we just worked our way down slowly to fill the gap, that's it. It's possible we have a double bottom at 1.3270 or so on the 4 hour chart (with the neckline at 1.3500) and this week broke 1.3500 with the gap up only to come back down to retest the neckline and make sure it has become support which will be followed by continuation up. Its possible that we will retest the 1.3700 area only to drop hard afterward. There many unknown variables at this time we cannot take into account.



To conclude....its great to have a game plan before the market opens. It shows you are prepared and ready to make some money. But always keep in mind, 48 hours of the market closed for us is not 48 hours of the market closed for institutional. Your analysis, just like mine depends on the Friday close, not what has been happening during the weekend. That's why many avoid being in positions over the weekend, avoid speculation about what is or what will be, and most importantly, wait a few hours after the market opens before placing any orders to let the volatility settle down and gain a clear fresh perspective.

looking at weekly, i will wait for monday meeting until i trade this. eventhough the previous channel was broken, my previous target marked C????? still remains possible depending on the outcome on monday in opinion..also divergance on weekly timeframe, but it has failed if this week we are going south...

on 4 hour chart we closed the gap, so essentially where we started a week ago..this pair looks confused to me

Open around 1.3396 drift down to .3374 in the early am hours and 9am head up to .3437 drift down 3380 by 10pm Tue all the way up .3490 back down to .3437

USD down trend based on yearly closing prices. 2009 put in a HL, will we see a HH in 2010? Line chart is based on Yearly closing prices. A big effort is clearly seen in 2009 to put in a HL, which was just over +1.5% on 2008 closing price.
