First of all, thank you for sharing your EA with the community.

I'm trying to backtest the EA and I get "Clock V1_2: DLLs are disabled. To enable tick the checkbox in the Common Tab of indicator". Do I have to have that indicator? If so, where can I find it?
There are no custom indicators required for this EA.
I think you need to go to Tools, Options, Expert Advisors and check the settings there. DLL should be enabled but Confirm DLL should be disabled.

Are you getting any error messages in the Journal?

I did a test with MACD sample EA and all is ok. I think there is something that im doing worng.

I think this is normal and not anything to do with the EA.

A few people have also had problems running a back test but no one has told me if they have been successful.

I have tested it on my MT4 several times with no problem
I use a demo account from Alpari, they allow hedging and are 5 digit brokers!

If the MACD sample program works then I don't think you are doing anything wrong.
I have only used this EA on Alpari demo account they are 5 digit brokers and they allow hedging but I don't know if this is the problem.

Maybe someone more knowledgable will help us out!

The lot size default is 0.05 maybe this is too low for your account?

You could try 0.1 or 1.0 lot size!

I really want you to be able to run this test.... it's driving me crazy!

you have designed this bot for GU, but except into order comments i cant see a trade_pair_allowed setting, so it can be used with any pair , only need to tweak timeframe and sma period, is that right ?

You are correct, line 88 is a "leftover" from some earlier trials, sorry!

And yes, it can be used on any pair, just needs optimising for each.

GBPJPY looks quite promising!
It just seems to take forever to do a simple 1yr backtest. Is that because of the 'rough' code?

my 2 cents: backtest= loosing time, only trust forward test IMO
