Sometimes is good to take a look at a higher timer frame to see the trend.... I use to look at the 4H, Daily and sometimes weekly charts to give me an idea ...

HI....
I short EURJPY Below the R1 ,at round 127 .....
As I SAW that the LH and THE price broke the R1 AND last Low (AROUND 127.12)
bUT THE PRICE GO UP NOW.....
am I wrong???
do I miss sth ??

On attached chart you can see how the sequence of H-L-LH would encourage entry short. There are only two things that might have kept you out of entering a short trade:

1. Distinct lack of trading activity at previous highs (red vertical line/NVO histogram at that point). One might well look for high short trading activity in advance of a good run down, but there was none.

2. Whole number 126.00 just below the EP (short) area might turn out to be support for price.

And, as we see after the fact, trading activity rose sharply once price fell to the whole number (buying at lows). This high activity at the whole number lows turned out to signal support for a good run higher, where the speculators closed out (black rectangles). This is speculation, to be sure. But it seems to fit the PA.

Look for good trading activity at last lows before a SonicR long trade setup. Look for good trading activity at last highs before a SonicR short trade setup. And keep in mind where whole and half numbers are, beyond any EP. Because if they are close in, you may want to hold entry and first see what price does at these significant levels.

Eric, please try to put your entry point (white) , your TP (blue) and your SL (red) on your chart.

Your entry was not wrong, but it was counter trend. but sometimes we take counter trend trades here, but speaking for myself, it depends highly on many circumstances. If you are new to this system, I recommend you to not trade short above 89EMA and vice versa.

Another thing. Try to delete that ZIG ZAG indicator, and zoom out two levels. By this way, you can see waves more easily.

Another thing ... look at the pic. Keep more eye on S&R levels, specially when they are combined with a round number, such as 127.00

What value shod I use for NVO oscilator on my 15 min charts In a templates from the first post is used =10
And I can see that Baster (posted earlier ) chart is using value 20 for NVO.

The default period = 10 setting can be changed to suit your own preference.

By increasing this period used for averaging, the histogram bars currently being displayed are "desensitized" from current and recent extreme lows or highs in activity.

If you significantly increase the period, then if the current histogram shows high activity, it is truely high when compared to average activity over that longer time period. If you have a short period setting (10), then if the historgram shows high activity, it may be high compared to the average over just the most recent bars (10), but it may not be high compared to the average for a longer period, say a whole day, or even longer.

There is no harm in experimenting with different settings. At different times different settings may best show if there is, or is not, increased trading activity at recent highs or lows, which is what you want to know. NVO may only show at times that any increased activity was on the "drive" to a high or low, in which case the "fun" is over with already and you have to wait again for increased activity at either highs or lows BEFORE another drive.

And just don't base trading decisions on NVO alone. Just because there may be increased activity at some high, or some low, we can never know if there will be additional steps in the same direction, each with increased activity, until the final "top" or "bottom" is achieved. Keep that in mind!

Here is what I mean by experimenting. I saw the EJ start to move up on the M15 chart (early in asian session), which looked like a SonicR long entry was missed. I looked at an M1 chart with NVO set to 1440 (a full day of minutes) and saw that the highest activity was at the highest price. This told me the price was driven up solely to get a higher price at which to short! (warning: speculation). So, I no longer feel I "missed" a good entry for a long trade. Could price go higher.....yes. And maybe in multiple steps. But if I continue to see greatest activity at highs along the way, I'll sit it out until the "top" is reached. Then there should be extra good short trading activity in preparation for an even better run down. All this is just as an example of what can happen and how NVO may provide some clues.

Here is a possibility, an "M" double top, maybe followed by a substantial drop over sessions (H4 chart). An interpretation of NVO suupports this possibility (M15 chart). I am stalking this for a SonicR short entry. I would like to see the activity pick up substantially FIRST.

But since this is just a possibility, I shall.....let the market decide!

I have often several times been confronted with the issue of conflicting information in case where by the MACD is saying sell and the Stochastic is saying buy, what do you suggest one does in that kind of situation, is it to combine the two with what is in the charts itself or with the Fundamentals or which one????????????

No, as my broker will not allow two accounts in their platform as of 2 days ago, I just installed the IBFX platform and wanted to test it as it is 5 digits. I just made an order to test it. I meant put the dragon and price on the NVO.
Starting to see instead of just looking.

Your question has nothing to do with SonicR, which does not use either the MACD or stochastics. Some traders here may use them as a matter of personal choice, but they are not necessary nor a part of the SonicR Method.

You may be on the wrong thread.

I can offer this personal observation, however. It may help you. When different technicals do not seem to be saying the same thing, then PA has not settled down to prepare for the next run, and you should not be trading, or looking for a trade under these circumstances. Wait until your technicals start to line up with one another. That is the time to start stalking for a trade.

As with UJ last week, I had opportunity to add to the trade. I just closed this addition for 72 pips. The original entry is still active.

EJ short trade:

Entry was an early S&R entry while price bounced repeatedly off resistance area. Trade closed for 100 pips, half number down to next lower half number.

What a beautiful day for SonicR. My first day back at the office using SonicR so to speak and it is as I never left, wow. A few things I wanted to add, filtering bad trades is obviously a very real obstacle in the use of most trading methods, these are some guidelines I used, and will use again now in filtering trades with SonicR.

-Stick to the rules and do not use strange BS indicators, simple is better.

- Watch your trading times, trade only if there is enough players in the market (can be anytime, but around London and NY open is a good bet) , have an eye on the volume...

- Every trade can't be a winner, the very noob characteristic in any forum is to ask the 'elders': Please can you tell me where I went wrong? Okay, firstly, every trade can't be a winner, if you are struggling to see waves or you think your trade lost because you shouldn't have been in the trade then please do ask. Go and look at the hundreds of trade sample in the forum first!

-Do not trade in crazy markets, I define crazy as big ranging candles, somtimes visible because of long wicks, basically heavy trading volume in an up and down ranging sideways market, (EUR/JPY yesterday afternoon gmt time is a good example, look at the attached screenshot)

- If current market behavior doesn't make sense to you do not trade.

Just my 2 cents, would love to have some of the other guys comment on my observations. I am no genius, but if I think I can help I will try and add some value to the thread, If you do not agree with what I am saying you are more than welcome to tell me so in a respectable manner, or just call me an asshole, both will suffice..

What a fantastic idea! the PA and the dragon are on the indicator window!
I wonder the possibilities of it.
