TBH I use 2 indicators for ranging, nonlagdot and gut instinct, oh and a damn tight stop loss. I'm right about 70% of the time, so I'm ahead. It's the breakouts I mess up with.
I operate with clear definite rules, if I break them I lose BIG!

I think it is more about the brokers sales strategy rather than actual state regulations or laws in the given country. I have two broker accounts one with a Polish broker and the second with FXPro (Cyprus). Both in the EU obviously, but only the cypriot allows me to hedge.

Please do teach. I'm much like trading cat. trending I can do... Sideways I cannot.

At the very least I'd like to know how to determine what is sideways so I can at least stay out...

Yeah I'll second that....if you're a trend trader/swing trader, which is actually where the big longer position bets come in, you'll suck it up in choppy markets and get eaten alive. (If you're wrong, you'll get taken out quick, but if you're right you'll only make a small profit before it reverses again lose/small win).

But like my buddy who runs a hedge fund, if you figure out your own algos, indicators or whatever, you can look at a 5 minute chart and scalp all day as it chops along. It's more work.......but you can be right a lot.....and you'll be ahead.

hahaha the sideway is no problem to determine just would like to get some more info on how to trade it better, as I am normally sidelined in those conditions....

Yeah it might, but the stochastic doesn't support that at the moment. Also it's got to get above the DP, and the Weekly pivot and R1 are right next to each other only abut 25 pips north of the DP. If it does go north, it might be another strong burst lke we saw earlier on.....

I only planned on using them for a short time. After about 6 months I decided that they were just fine and I stayed with them.. Tried others but was not happy..
