DislikedI know I'm asking more of a matching engine type question, but I'm very curious.
Oh one more..What happens if buy stops were just triggered @ 100.00 and I issue a massive market sell order at the same time that dwarfs the demand the stops create? What would the PA look like in that case? Would the buy stops push price up and then my order smash it down creating a pin bar? Or would my long down bar form with the buy stops getting filled invisibly at nearest bid prices as price fell? Would you see any upticks at all if the buy stop was big enough...Ignored

What I think happens is that your huge market sell order eats up the nearest liquidity first (which happens to be the influx of market buy orders created by the stops triggering). This effectively removes all the market buy orders before they've had a chance to effect price (by filling the sitting limit sell orders above).Ignored
DislikedPS. Another question I'd like to answer is this:
If price was to move to a level where there are an equal number of limit buy and limit sell orders, would the 2 groups of limit orders be matched up (effectively cancelling out all the sitting liquidity at that level) WITHOUT the need for any market orders to be submitted?Ignored
DislikedHmmm, I don't know, and obviously if you are then I apologize, but I thinks it's unlikely.Ignored
DislikedSure it may or may not be right, I'm just saying that anyone can copy and paste info that has been painstakingly researched and written by others and try to pass it off as their own (note: copy/paste from articles without acknowledging it's someone else's work = trying to pass it off as your own) and make it appear as if they know what they're talking about.
I'm not suggesting that Parazite doesn't know what he's talking about, I'm sure he does, but it's just not right what he did. And it's sort of directed to Scotty as well, given his responses...Ignored
DislikedThis is somewhat cloudy for me. To my knowledge, limit orders cannot exist at certain prices until the market is above or below the price you want to trade at. For example, right now the market is 100.00bid and 100.02ask. If you were interested in issuing a limit sell of 10 lots at 99.99, you'd have to wait until the ask price was at 99.99 or lower to submit your order, otherwise you'd be filled at 100.00. I think I'm right on this. The term, if I'm not mistaken, is a marketable limit order. This has to do with exchange rules.Ignored
QuoteDislikedIf you think about it though, it wouldn't make sense to say hey I'd like to submit a limit sell at 99.99 right now when someone is willing to give me 100. It does make sense if you're thinking ahead though, but if you know the market is going to drop, you might as well sell at 100 now, then 99.99 later.
DislikedHi Forex, Im trying to understand about what you said (in the red ink) but it doesn't make sense to me at all. I hope you could elaborate on that statement.
How do you know or recognize that big money was absorbing the selling? how you recognize the big money is showing up at the important S/R ????Ignored
DislikedSome people call this imbalance.
At important S/R levels the big money shows up by looking at the market depth.

DislikedSo we just need to look at DOM and see the bigger volume is in our side?
If a break happens on low volume it wont stick and vice versa.
Is there any need to look for anything more subtle thn that?Ignored
DislikedOK, using google I was able to painstakingly reconstruct his post, and found it was basically a copy and paste from various articles from www.camron.com.auIgnored
