You're right, Rastaman. That is probably all we can do for now. The way volatility has dropped off, it sure seems the plan is no plan until US open. I'm taking a guess that after the US open there will be spike down and then a run up. Warning: Speculation!

Hi Sonic, very interesting strategy. I am willing to test it over a 30 day period. What is your average wins/losses over a 30day period and also what is your average pip wins/pip losses over the same period.

Trading on a 1 - 15min chart can be nail biting, you prefer this in your Sonic R manual - pdf doc.

I actually think it is the trend continuation of this H&S on H1.

That was also part of my concern for a false breakout.

I can't understand why you guys would buy into that at the 23.6 retracement.

I do not use fibs, but I agree it was bought too much into resistance.
I had "double bottom" in my mind. It was pretty agressive, but I prefer
having 8 trades with 6 winners and 2 loosers, than be very careful and
have 0 trades with 0 winners and 0 loosers. Why? Coz it's a profitable system.
Anyways, it was my first SL since February.

I have no idea what R is posting - he is, as usual, all over the place.

What I have been posting is simple readings of Support and Resistance. I simply stated that trading those S/R levels in conjunction with SonicR is something that I have been working on since the beginning of the new year. While those entries may seem "foreign," certainly S/R should not seem foreign at all to Sonikers who have paid attention to this thread.

I do not know what happened to Muhammad, but for what its worth, the secret to his success with the SonicR is that he identifies areas of S/R, and then takes only those SonicR signals that occur only after S/R has held. What I am now doing is I am simply taking a position at those levels rather than waiting for the L-H-HL waves to develop. But, I do so only if price acts like it is indeed finding support, i.e. buyers, or resistance, i.e. sellers at those levels.

I use a tight tight stop. I will start with a stop usually no more than 10 pips (my largest has been about 15 pips - but that is not common), and often my stop, because I am trading futures rather than spot, is a mere 3-5 pips! I do not "move" or "cancel" my stop loss like R does. I'd rather take a small 3-10 pip loss which I will easily make back than bet on "being right eventually" and running a loss for 50, 60, or more pips.

I am still, first and foremost, a SonicR trader. I am not trying to make SonicR better. I am not trying to impress anyone with "new found" knowledge. I have not changed anything with respect to how I trade SonicR. Go back through my posts and you will see that I was never one to add anything to the SonicR. Instead, I was the one who was stripping the SonicR down to its essence - The Sonic Dragon with wave analysis, Support and Resistance, highs and lows and higher highs and lower lows and lower lows and lower highs. I'm the one who threw out floor pivots, 89 ema, CCI, NVO, QQE, Stochastics, excessive fibs, etc. and so on. I am as pure a Soniker as one can be.

Here is what I have changed in my trading (not to SonicR, but to my, i.e. ddaytrader's personal trading): First, I added Muhammad's S/R filter to my SonicR trades - I only take a SonicR if it follows a test of simple and easy to see with the naked eye Support or Resistance. The only fib level that has any credence for me as a stand alone S/R level is the 50% retracement, as that is always, by definition, a range midpoint, and the pros do play midpoints. I'm not saying some don't watch all the other levels, but I know that even those who do not believe in fibs still monitor the midpoint, i.e. the 50% level of any swing or range. SonicR is still SonicR. I have not changed a thing. I simply only take those SonicRs that happen after a test of an easy to identify S/R level.

The second change I have made to my trading is that I will now take a position at a clear and easy to see with the naked eye S/R level or 50% level if price looks to be finding buyers/sellers at that level. I do not usually sit there with a limit order, though sometimes I do. Sitting with a limit order is what I think Basber means by "blind" entries, i.e. you are buying without waiting to see how price reacts, in effect you are buying or selling with "blind faith" that the S/R level you identified will indeed hold. More often, I am watching when price reaches those levels, and I wait for a sign that the level is going to hold. I enter with a market order, and place my stop loss a few pips below the low of the test for a long, and above the high of the test for a short. I am not using any foreign system, moving averages, "1 hour boxes", pin bars, etc and so on.

I have for a long time here trumpeted the importance of S/R. Some, like Domas, heard what I was saying and has done very well. Others still chase every new "Grail" system to be found in the threads of the FF forum. To each his or her own. As I said, I am a "live and let live guy" from now on. If someone else wants to parade out every last indicators and system so be it. That is, after all, what makes a market. But do not imply that I am doing anything similar to R. I mean no offense to R, but I have kept my focus squarely on SonicR, and simply developed a way to use S/R to aid in entries as well as exits (e.g. profit targets) in accordance with the SonicR, while he has simply spread out from one thing to the next, and continues to do so (which is fine - he has a right to go in whichever direction he pleases).

As for me, I will let this a quote from one of my last posts here before I went on hiatus make my case best:
