Regarding USD index, I know that JPY accounts for around 13% of the total basket, but trend reversal is very visible on its monthly chart. If JPY reverses & sells off, then that will propel USD index higher. GBP doesn't look all that healthy at all to make a bullish stance, perhaps 1.35+ is in play. Now EUR is not all that bullish at all, yes there are some signs of a possible reversal on its Daily chart, but trend on its bigger brother (weekly) doesn't look bullish at all. So expectancy is still in favour of USD index to continue advancing. I would say 84 is likely.

and higher for sure , in fact back in July of 2009 I was talking 110 ish

I am expecting some kind of large rertracement in the US markets as here we are close to DJ 11000 and yet no sign of any real retracement on weekly ( just minor dips).

Banking system is not that great
300 k loans going into default and foreclosures per month , the fact that mark to market ruling was changed makes the bank picture look rosier than it really is.
FDIC is broke .. I htink they are silently being bailed out by feds on bank insurance claims.
40 odd banks have gone down this years in 3 months.
No mention is being made of commercial mortgages going into defualt , yet this is happening
and the real unemployment number is 16% ish in the us .
Add to this the US exposure to Europe ... I bet some greedy company somewhere in the US is up to their ying yang in credit derivatives on euro bonds / debt.

I guess as long as there is low interest rates then stocks are more attractive than bonds .

The stock market for sure has a bubble feel about it. A burst of that will drop eu in a hurry .

not a pretty picture. but on the other hand. it may mean the largest consumer, consumes less. so exporters will export less. will it run down hill? who knows.. but in late 2008 the same picture (sky falling) was usd positive.

IMO if SPX retraces to 900 zone first, then we may well see it go well above 1200, but if it keeps on rocking without a substantial retracement, then that only elevates the likelihood of a massive sell off.

Really at the end of the day why do any of us care where eu is next week ?

that double top poped higher a couple of weeks back.. it may out do 1100.. u.s. markets seem to be in better shape then other old world markets, hey but oil is 82 and seems hell bent on getting a new high.. at new high id look for weakness.. and short all but usd.

if we dont get another sunken boat or subway attack maybe oil is already heavy or soon will be.. ok. is full

Todays high 1.3507. Close 1.3480 , above 1.3507 is long 1st target 1.3560.

If todays support 1.3450 fails then downside target 1.3400.

I am still favouring some form of upside movement back into 1.3500 to 1.3750 channel , but only next London session will tell us that.

thanks i was expecting the same high if it break todays high so max it could make a new high around 3560-3580 and expecting low around 3350 if it fails to break resistance and break support 3450..
