that hammer on h4 is making me a bit nervous... retest of lows could take a while... though i hope sooner rather than later. but trichet is going to speak soon

no guru but as far as I know a close above the top of the body of the prior candle is bullish but you should have other confirmation besides a candle. you can put your sl at the bottom of the body of the prior candle too but I'm not recommending you trade it.

edit.. actually a break above the top is bullish if your aggressive.

oh and take note it's not as bullish as the prior one that occurred because of the location of the previous bar. In the last occurrence it was moving more downwards which makes it a more significant decision candle. by decision candle means any candle where it tightens up such as in doji's and hammers. When they occure as a reversal candle they provide better signals. Not that this new one is invalid it just occurred after another bullish candle so it's not as good a bullish signal so to speak. edit.. but the following confirmation candle is important too.
edit again.. but but but.. lol. the 8 candles in a row also could be seen as a more powerful signal put together than the 1 doji candle within them. that is if that pattern of candles is considered bullish but I'm not the best candle trader and only use them as after the fact indicators. hope that helps..

ps there's an expert at this in elite traders. look up hammer candles and there's a hole thread on it. I learned quite a deal from him and I even think he wrote a book on it but I can't remember his name. He's actually Japanese.

Woke up this morning excited about finally trading live with my first mini account at ibfx. Started small with a $300 deposit. Planned on getting 10-15 pips per day and let compounding take care of me. First trade was good for a 9 pip gain. Over the next hour I managed to loose $74. Thought I was doing well trading the fractals after retracements in the eurusd and cable while following the trend. Noticed breakouts with other pairs and thats where half of my losses come from. Is this tipicle bad newbie psychology or something else? I hate to bother you guys and I'm willing to risk getting my head chopped off here because you guys in this forum seem to be the only people that have half a clue as to what is going on. Just reading the back posts in this thread and the cable thread alone I've made alot (at least in my eyes) of pips on my demo account.

GOLD/EUR correlation pretty good lately, if you take a look when GOLD start

falling that be the same day when EUR goes down, so, ones GOLD go back

above 1100, we might see some extended rise in EUR, not before..

Watch GOLD. Crude is surprisingly ok, back over 80..

You have a micro account ?
It doesn't seem to be your strategy which cost you money but your money management ?
Are you using big lots ? what's your sl ? cause if you allow 10-15 as gain..i'd like to know your sl ...5 pips ?

99% of people here in this thread (or in any other place in the net) loose money, even if they say the opposite, so take all you see with a grain of salt.

It will take you years of study and hard work to make part of the 1% that win consistently.

if it gets to 1116.676 short it.. back to todays low plus...sl about 1/4 move. move sl to be early
