Can I please ask if any of Steve Nisons material will compliment this system?
I know it works as a stand-alone system, but one of the large factors is about candle and candle pattern recognition and he seems to be pretty popular in this respect.
I am asking as I have the opportunity to get quite a bit of his material on the cheap through a friend of the family that I had no idea was into trading. I do not know how old it is as she has been trading for a long time.
Frenz, your numbers seem wrong. Mine match with Gladis'. Try checking in a MT4 broker instead of Oanda.

Hi All. Frenz, I've got the same MA values as GN and KC as well. Must admit I never really liked Oanda charts. When I had an account with them I still used an MT4 broker for charting purposes...

I haven't heard of Steve Nisons system. Not sure its a great idea to combine systems when trying to learn them at the same time. Get one mastered then maybe see if it can be improved by something else.... but then I refer you to my tag line!
just checked oanda real time prices and forex market plus a few others
they seem to all agree with what Im looking at
3 minutes to the hour and gbp is 14985

Prices may agree but that doesn't mean the MAs will. Brokers start at different times therefore some are missing candles that others have which affect moving average calcs.
just checked it out with my meta trader program and it pretty much mirros my oanda set up so im going with my origonal call of around 5030 for a bit of a turn around

Hi Lee.
Any means by which you can improve your understanding of candles will compliment EO's method of trading. The patterns/signals they produce and what they tell us are an integral part of trading this way. We're always looking for price action to show us the way and candles are a great tool in that respect.
I haven't read much of Steve Nison's stuff but he does seem to be regarded as one of the leading lights. Japanese candlesticks have been around for a long time so I imagine the material being offered to you will still be relevant regardless of age.

Thanks Macc. I have to admit that I am a little disapointed by the response to who this chap was. Needless to say, my family friend was raving about him.... but then I guess that if she doesnt trade (which she doesnt anymore) then it may not be what I thought it was!

By all accounts Mr Nison is a "big thing" in the world of Japanese candlesticks and there are countless Bytes dedicated to him on the web. I believe he has many a book to his name and there are often presentations/seminars(webinars) touted around various sites.
Not to condone this sort of thing (or deprive your friend of the family a few quid for their material) but I would have thought a good rummage around the web would turn up plenty of material for you to download and determine whether or not it's your bag.
