I'm accumulation longs as we go down...target 1.3825...stop well below 1.3600

Well it would take more room than we have here to go through it all, but in a nut shell, we have varied markets in the region for our exports, and export we must, and we do. A free trade agreement with China, amoung others is good, without too much reliance on ye olde traditional markets such as Europe, UK and USA.....although USA is still a major maket. This govt is doing well, and people are optimistic. This govt also isn't trying to make NZ what it isn't......we are a small exporting country and that's what we do best. The previous mob had 'delusions of grandure' about where we stand in the world, and that did us much harm economically.

Having said that, the kiwi is pretty much at the mercy of the USD, but it does catch a ride on the coat tails of the AUD, and as we know, Aussie is doing quite well for itself.....

I not believe the EU will reverse here @13670...The GU action to downside starts today morning and a hard move will probably send the EU also to 13600 levels..Too risk to decide for buying.. I need to calculate 2-6 hours more for a reverse confirmation surely..

As [GERMANY] seems to throw a spanner in EU rescue plan works, the [EMU PERIPHERY] has come under renewed pressure. In Greece, the 10Y spread over Bunds has widened 5bp from just below 300bp yest, while [ITALY] has widened to 82bp, out from recent lows of 77bp, amidst EC warnings that its deficit and debt could be higher than anticipated. With risk aversion resurfacing, [SPAIN] comes under scrutiny as it plans to raise up to Eur5.5 bn via 10Y and 30Y bonds today, testing demand for non-core/peripheral paper (vs France's core issuance). The yield gap fairly steady, though, at 75bp. In [IRELAND], concerns over more bail-outs leading to heightened funding needs and EC warnings that govt economic f/cs are too optimistic, necessitating more severe cuts, keep the [IRISH] premium out at 138bp, from last week's tightest levels of 128bp. [PORTUGAL] follows suit, out 2bp to 117bp.

gbpusd has room to 1.5200-10 before deciding to go long
eurusd has room to 1.3620-30 i'd say

I've started to buy it though in case it doesn't want to go down more
I'm targeting 1.3730 first

Yes I had heard that Mexico was right up high on the list....suprising isn't it?

NZ has been after a FTA with USA for quite some time, and previous govt made it a huge priority. The sticking point though is our 'No Nukes' policy. USA doesn't like it, and we won't change it!!! Really though, as an exporting country, it makes sense to deal with others in the South Pacfic where possible.....
