i said before that all trends r right ... going long with 4h chart (breaking the down trend) , going short with a delay (if down trend not broken at daily chart)...etc

For what it is worth ,look at the COT data.Commercial traders are extremely long Euro.

I have said that daily chart doesn't display price action that equals strength, attempts yes, strength no. Weekly is just plain bearish. You are banking on rounded bottom on daily & dojifiedhammers on weekly. Weekly chart which I use for trend study has all resistance levels preserved, 38-39 will be strongly rejected most likely.

I am with Malcolmb14, so will be targeting 1.4 and 1.55 for GBPUSD.

weekly charts , wedge of sorts, short squeeze to 1.4700 supply area could be possible, also top of wedge , what an awesome sell zone for my mate Soros

chart says it all....weak shorts keep getting trying to short, longs take over and push price up....meeting and fed statement will most likely give good clues, however economy doesnt look good for any chance of rate hike in near future(more probability in favor of longs)

ok, so greek crisis put to rest for the time being....fed comes out on tuesday and says "will keep rates low for extended period"

euro 1, usd 0

why did china buy half of the gold the IMF sold???? To hedge against inflation, climbing equities???? Against a weak USD???? I even read somewhere that down here ACBs were selling usd. This is what china does to fuel their growth, they dump usd and buy commodities and drive them up, then when they want they dump commodities and buy usd to appreciate their treasuries. Perfect machine to control world resources.

FXE the ETF for euro closed at 137.3. it has a strong resistance at its 200 moving average at 138.7. a strong resistance line is also at that point.....................

USD index candle is inching to go down.At its 50 moving average it has good support at 79.23.


my chart show E/U has strong resistance at 3782,3798,3842.......3892

too many things are happening next week to say if Euro will decide to take the anticipated correction or decide to make the shorters a big meal.

Its easier than you think. A week or two just trading is some of the best time you'll spend. Don't even read the threads---- its bliss. For the most part I just hang around anymore.

For what its worth, I'm buying dips. If your wrong at least your not alone.

Hi malc,

It's a pleasure to me to see your posts when i come to FF. Why taking a break when loosing? Every trader faces a loss. No problem with that.

By the way, you see a wedge on EU, but I see a range from 04/02/2010 at 1.3813 up to now with 1.3448 as support. This range is the largest in time from the peak of 1.5143. 25% more up to now from the recent range.
Indicating Accumulation/Distribution Zone which will reflect a preparation to a big move. North or south? Since the entry in this range, the support was touched three time. The last one was violent and never came back to it after. Actually we are touching the resistance level and approaching seriously to 50% daily retrace from 1.2456 which is 1.3599. Big resistance but seen long time accumulation, could it be so hard to cross? That's the question!

You have made comparisons to last time EUR spiked 1000 pips in 1 week, please remember that then it was based on fundamentals (US interest rates kept dropping), this time what we have is the opposite expectation - US to hike & Eurozone to drop. So it is illogical to conclude that a big rally is likely in EUR. If there was to be a spike it would have taken place already, hence my view of daily price action as weak. There has to be sentiment present here to perform a big squeeze, we are not dealing with a stock market here. Intraday short squeezing is different, because key players are not interested in noise so they are not bothered, they are just creating liquidity by shaking daytrading activities, performing order fills, etc.

Let's take Sep 22/2008, there was a 400 pip green candle in EUR that day whilst in an overall downtrend. EUR was retracing, similar to current price action. Why the spike? That's what happened on Sunday 21st - Federal Reserve Statement: Source released a statement announcing statutory five-day antitrust waiting period, the applications of Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to become bank holding companies and also authorizes the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to extend credit to the London-based broker-dealer subsidiaries of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch

That was kind of random & markets reacted. What happened on 23? Back down EUR went. We never know when these news come out. Technically it's unlikely to expect a big upward spike, but if some news is released, then anything is possible.
