Thanks Invisible. That was my mistake. I did put it on each pair's chart. I will change that on my platform. But even now I have 2 open trades for GbpUsd, 2 for EurGbp and 1 for EurChf. I would expect to see 12 open trades for each of the 3 pairs...or would I???

I think you need to stop all the trades and set everything up and then start again. I have the Scooby bot on one GBPJPY M15 chart, Steve's MPTM on another GNPJPY one, and then the Reconnect EA on a third GBPJPY one.

I've had the same type of issue from the start, which is why yesterday I was saying I had so many trades. If it buys 2.0 EUR, it will buy 4 * 0.50 simultaneously, and will exit in 4 installments, though sometimes at different times. Tons of small trades. Typically, it's 4 buys and then later 4 sells for the exit(s) from one pair (ie. for one round trip in and out).

I have the setup per Invisible's instructions. The mod EA on GJ 15 mins, and the MPTM on another GJ 15 mins.

Also, sometimes the EA will control the trades and sometimes MPTM. Not clear why this happens. For instance the, BE stop is definitely not kicking in after 15 pips, but just after 1 or 2 (and I have the Invisible's MPTM parameters loaded correctly. Many of these trades are de facto scalps.

Maybe Steve can clear up the code, though he's prob. very busy with the ADR or other stuff.

LOL, it looks like it's the wild and wacky world of EA's.

Maybe has something to do with how the EA interacts with the broker (FxPro on my end, but I NEVER trade with them, just use their MT4 and for any demoing).

I'm on FXDD too and I also haven't seen the multiple trade issue. Also mptm seems to be working correctly.

Could you please clarify that if you ONLY use mptm to do "15 pips then break even"? if so, I can add a 'TP locker' routine into your "modified scoob.mq4", since mptm is very powerful and also consuming some computer power.

I also use it to trail at 75% of profit on the table if total open positions reach 2% profit. I have never seen that happen, but it seemed like it would be useful .

On a different note, if you would like to hard code this into the bot, that is fine, but:

 

  1. I am not sure we have found the optimum set up for the EA itself anyway.
  2. I am not sure that the MPTM settings are optimum either. I suspect that either they cut the profit too soon, or they do not close the trade early enough and so it slips back into DD.
  3. There may be a case for saying that the MPTM is not needed. The only way we can find that out is to run the bot on its own on one MT4, and in parallel with the MPTM on another MT4 with the same broker.

If you do add anything, I think adding updated news checking code (to avoid hitting the FF server every tick, and also to stop trading for a presumed news event if the news xml file cannot be found - the two issues that have been brought up recently on this thread) would be very useful.

My original demo is just under 24 hours from 1 week of trading and I expect it will be at or just over 20% gain by that time if recent performance is anything to go by.

* NewsExist()--I followed mbkennel's code, however, i put a switch in the setting, it is by default "off" (not using it), since your mod doesn't use NewsExist() routine.

* a TPlocker routine-- you can set how many pips to lock when you have a number of floating +pips: for example, you can lock 0 pip when you have 15+ pips profit (in fact, break-even) as the default settings.

if there is a problem, please let me know.

If you do this, you may want to re-visit the criteria for entering trades. For example, the combination of low RSI period (3) and a tight ranging pair (EURCHF) can lead to an almost infinitely bad risk:reward ratio on some of your entries.

Earlier today (FxPro 3/3 02:38 AM), the EA opened a sell order for EURCHF. Since the range was so narrow and the RSI period so "sensitive", the exit criteria (H1 RSI(3) < 30) was met even before the spread could be made up. Sure the loss was small, but the potential risk of the trade was exponentially large compared to the very small reward possibility (if a positive outcome was even possible).

Do you trade those eurchf, euraud, audnzd ... and so on in your live trading?
or do you think they are worthy to trade?

if i have to trade these pairs, my own way is to using pending order to overcome the entry spreads, however, for exit, the spreads cannot be avoided.

I don't trade those pairs anyway. very curious why to.

Is the latest account history ea you have posted on this thread the most recent?
I dropped it on my eglobal demo running grail 1.6 and now invisible's bot, but the pip count is way off. Can you verify on yours that the pipcount shown actually matches the pips made? Or maybe the one attached to this thread isn't the latest working one?

If you post a modified version of a robot IMHO it is better to also change the name or add a version number.
