U.S. stock futures in tight range before Bernanke testimony

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures held steady Wednesday with traders unwilling to commit before testimony from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
S&P 500 futures fell 1.5 points to 1,095.70 while Nasdaq 100 futures rose three-quarters of a point to 1,801.70. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 6 points.
U.S. stocks dropped sharply Tuesday after data showing a slide in U.S. consumer confidence as well as a dip in German business confidence. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 101 points, the S&P 500 dropped 13 points and the Nasdaq Composite lost 29 points.

Wednesday's spotlight will be on Washington as Bernanke appears before the House Financial Services Committee at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Though the Fed chairman has insisted that the economy still needs "accommodative monetary policies," last week's increase on discount window loans has raised concerns that the central bank may tighten earlier than some in the market had anticipated.
Jan Hatzius of Goldman Sachs said in a note to clients the Q&A session will be of importance, and wants to know why the Fed expects underlying inflation to stop falling, why it's so reluctant to provide additional monetary stimulus and what indicators the central bank uses to determine if inflation expectations are still "low and stable."

Just took a short order @3556. A upward movement should see it safely to at least @36, where i'll consider a short order around that price vicinity.

I can see the speech now. Bernankee will respond with blank face remarks met with a stern sincere stare, adjust his tie several times, and stutter while sneering with his upper lip. The market will have some type of sharp reaction and it will be over with. Bernankee will prance off and fly away in his helicopter to his private island where he sleeps upside down like a vampire bat. His actions will be gloated on in every financial mainstream news source of how he saved the US economy yet again from catastrophe. Bernankee the legend.

For the noobs here, my posted TP on one of my Longs from earlier that has him so pissy... Price hit my TP and then went even FURTHER in the direction he's been saying it won't go for some time now. So... price went to my first TP "and then some", I never said I got the extra...
