Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Basically to trade in Forex you require sums in the 100,000's to take a position. For the average Joe to trade you have to borrow. a 1:100 ratio means that the broker will want to have $100 in your account for ever $1 position you have on the movement of the currency. There is probably a lot more to it, a hell of a lot more.
I operate with clear definite rules, if I break them I lose BIG!

As you read you'd understand...

but in laymans terms

100:1 = Quite Extreme, but ok for a hardcore emotionless scalper
200:1 = manageable gambling
400:1 = Chronic Gambling and would most likely end in a MC

If your a beginner, focus on leverage levels such as 15:1 10:1 or even 5:1

I personally employ 25:1 leverage but with very tight sl's ... so I must rely on some form of precision when placing a trade.


The more leverage employed, the less capital you "put down" to make a trade.
Subsequently this allows you to place larger trades.


Its crazy to think there are some "brokers" out there that allow clients to use leverage up to 700:1!!! --- With that much leverage I'd have no fingernails... Heck a 50 pip spike would mean more than 50% of equity down the drain.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the news send us straight through 1.3530. Mid 90's, clear skies, and perfect beach conditions. Put on your shorts and come down to enjoy the surf, sun, and sand at 1.3420.

my oanda chart is showing a dhlc (double high lower close) on the daily chart which arent that common but very effective trend continuation signal according to j16. mt4 just shows railroad tracks which are more significant as a top or bottom reversal rather than a continuation signal but its supportive of further downside all the same. personally I think its going all the way back to the march 2008 lows

ok so you already in the game.. thought its your entry plan.. don't know exactly whether it can go down further or not but imo maybe going down further but don't underestimate the retracement factor..

Looking at the 4h chart i would say eur/usd would go up again at some point right.?

leverage is part of money management. Of course you'll blow your account if you have leverage of 500:1 and you're using 2 or 3 lots!! But if you use 0.1 lots or even mini lots, its relatively safe to trade with high leverages!

Good Morning.

Any news on GOLD? Anybody claim that IMF piece of 200t yet? I bet buyer is there,

but they want lower price, let see 8AM action again soon, Gold could be walked

down to 1050 area, to seal the deal. So far it's holding up.
