Just a thought... If I was a borker or an institutional trader, that's almost exactly where I'd figure the vast majority of the stops were and I'd go get 'em...

MuddBu bumped this thread The Structure of Forex Brokers by Darkstar the other day and it is invaluable reading... if you haven't read it, you should. I've read it more times than I can keep track of...

Thanks. I have read that before, it's a great thread. I'm risking 1/8th of what I made from 85->45 earlier, so if I do get stopped out, there are two possibilities. Price goes past to 3630 area and I re-enter on the way back down, or price reverses after stop and I lose 1/8th of my profits from overnight trade. It's a risk, but a 4:1 that I'm willing to take

Thanks for your advise, always looking to learn more every day.

I like this, I have almost exactly the same entry, stop and target although I would prefer to test the lows again

I do not like when RSI goes down and price stays in the same area... makes me think its taking a breather before going back up.

I usually set a more conservative TP if I might not be watching the trade. If I go back to sleep for a couple of hours I want to make sure I don't miss out on my TP by 2 pips and end up stopped out, but I don't like trailing stops either. If I am watching, when price approaches TP I will remove it and manually manage.

See the euro's fall against the dollar:

http://www.dowjoneswebservices.com/chart/view/3471

The International Monetary Fund had a hand in the latest decline in risk appetite when it announced that it would be selling off its last 191.3 metric tons of gold on the open market.

The news knocked about $25 a troy ounce off the spot price of the precious metal from its high Wednesday and pushed commodity currencies, such as the Australian dollar, lower.

Sentiment was also undermined by continuing fears that Greece will fail to meet its deadlines for reducing spending and by reports that other sovereign borrowers, such as Italy, may have used derivatives to disguise the extent of its debts.

I dont fancy the euro making any decent recovery as long as the swiss are busy with the USD/CHF pair.

It appears the large and initial sellers of the pair (eur/usd) have left the market per se and have left the pair to contend with the bottom pickers.

heavy stops appear to be lurking above 1.0830-40... Swiss longs are being targeted. of course we know what happens when the franc weakens...
