Thanks Gator. and Malcolmb of course. I usually do actually just set my alarms for the probable volume hours. It still just takes awhile in the first years imo because you're working through everyones different methods trying to hone your own skill set.

today pure luck I think .....

I posted a chart for weekly high / low close of last week on the weekend.

I thinkj close was 1.3633 . I mentioned any swing trade short to close if price went above this level due to daily futures charts and the double bottom and volume spread analysis set up

So today i was kind of bullish to begin with .

From a day trading perspective I am on west coast Canada. My time that suits me best is 5am to 9 am , the euro / us overlap and highest volume timei n the forex 24 hour market. POsiitons both short term and long term tend to be established in this window.

I come to the computer and plot the following
2 hour high , low close and pivot ( I have a pivot indicator for esignal)

price breaks above 2 hour high I go long with 0.5% risk as stop ( about 30 pip for eu), today it happened to be up day so worked out ok

here is the set up on 4h our charts using 4 hour high / low / close , also happened to be a break of my 1.3667 number I mentioned in a post on weekend

Now at 1.,3800 we have solid resistance. A break of this opens up 1,3850 / 1.3900. I think we may end this week in the 1.4000 area...

The beauty of this technique is that I do not have to guess any thing .. it is a clockwork like trade and either works or does not. The critical part of it is to trade at the right time. I am sure some cleaver guys in here could make an EA for this

The times to trade this are 1) US market 6am pst on , 2) after ff is done with its tricks , 1st 60 min of london

I'd love to, but my broker doesn't have anything besides currencies.

All I can do, just look at MT4 demo charts,

which have those commodities and

take trades on stocks/indexes/ETfs with regular stock broker.

This post below should not only be a Sticky, but every poster should have to aknowledge they read it before posting privileges are granted here imo... It would eliminate a lot of grief for some folks...

The guy only posted 18 times and this was a doozy of a First Post by any standards..

As a product of many hundreds of hours scrounging both the FF Attic and Cellar, I offer it here in the Hope it will help someone.

fxdon will verify this trade I mentioned set up to him on skype this morning

go long if gu break 1.6550 i said due to that high volume on down bar 60 min , 20 pip stop

I have been bullish gu all last week , look back on posts , today was just icing on cake

Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. managed $15 billion of bond sales for Greece after arranging a currency swap that allowed the government to hide the extent of its deficit.
No mention was made of the swap in sales documents for the securities in at least six of the 10 sales the bank arranged for Greece since the transaction, according to a review of the prospectuses by Bloomberg. The New York-based firm helped Greece raise $1 billion of off-balance-sheet funding in 2002 through the swap, which European Union regulators said they knew nothing about until recent days.
Failing to disclose the swap may have allowed Goldman, a co-lead manager on many of the sales, other underwriters and Greece to get a better price for the securities, said Bill Blain, co-head of fixed income at Matrix Corporate Capital LLP, a London-based broker and fund manager.
“The price of bonds should reflect the reality of Greece’s finances,” Blain said. “If a bank was selling them to investors on the basis of publicly available information, and they were aware that information was incorrect, then investors have been fooled.”

the 60 min high / low close stratergy

the sell in this siuation had a strong chance of wokring due to perfect set up

1) pin bar formed in frankfurt
2)riught at prior resistance

stops could be set no more than 30 pip away , good r/r as i set limit for 50 pip

for newbies

timing is everything

if I got $10 for everytime I got into the market in low volume conditions like early asia , or holidays or frankfurt and all it did was get me into trouble I owuld be rish and not have to trade fx...

timing is everything ... not often that trades are set up in Asia , most set ups happen in US ./ euro overlap or 1st hour london

here was set up

now question is how far does this go ?

1.3850 ? 1.4000? or is this just one big old fake out ?

this was tested Friday with buyers coming in however as mentioned earlier we have seller 1.3640 hence my looking for long above 1.3660

the basing pattern is a very similar pattern that we have nov 20 th to dec 1 at 1.5150

in fact that volume at 1.3520 was the highest since 1.5150 and put the market sideways for now

Ahh Ok now I understand where your coming from.
For myself once I see the actuall pay off of a great system at that point I do not care how much work I need to do to get there because I see what the end result is. I think and it's just my opinion that today in Forex there are way way to many folks that look at it as gambling or they buy a clicbank special for $97 and think that is it.
The other side of the coin is we need to be glad we have those people to exploit as it brings more money to the table.

yep, we're dancing right on the r1-line, below big resistance in an 18-pip window. but mr. market appears to slide down at least a bit.
