each time euro gets cheaper at a certain level some govs are buying euro to prevent their currency from getting to expecive comparible. it could also be ez doing it to prevent euro from going into free fall while greece crap is final. i bet bb is loaning ez the usd to do it.. as was done before in the middle of the night deals.. it makes markets manipulated and not free when this happens.. free market is a myth.. also news sucked for ez today..so someone is pulling strings..

Surely if that is the case, they are just postponing the inevitable?

I think Gold has probably just completed an ABC correction at 50% of the April to November rally on the daily charts. So at the moment it is completely open as to whether it will continue to correct or this past weeks rally will turn into a new bull rally....

I shall stand aside until the this wave completes and shows its' colours

It makes a lot of sense man. I hope they let it fall to 3600 at least. By the way...this policy can't be manteined over time right??

yes.. but by uscb doing this it puts some cost on u.s. citizens. we get devaluing euros in return.. like i said the deflated usd the last decade funded dow 14k 147 pb oil.. but it also funded ez... basicly we gave the people a raise in the hyjacked planes and bank rolled china and the rest of the world.. and yet the sheep dont get it. we were raped and the ghb has taken our memory and commoun sence.

The Swiss are intervening they are the most concerned about CHF getting this strength, because of EUR strength and it's hurting thier economy, so they buy lots of EURO because they can afford it.
Also, I do agree with you, I think there are some shady deals going on too by EU members...

I've always wondered about those swiss interventions. they must be timed to accomodate some specific (or set of) trade issues (deals) - since the effect is often pretty brief. probably everything all planned & ready to go down, alles en ordnung, so very swiss....

ummm to put that into perspective, on what is known as Black Wednesday in the UK a number of years ago the government lost 8 billlion GBP in a day buying sterling against the German Mark in just this kind of situation. George Soros was warned by his office staff "the british government is buying sterling!!" his famous reply of course was "that will help them for about half an hour..."

Now it did not help the GBP one bit just killed the UK reserves and the UK had some then, these EU countries don't at the moment they are all bust from bailing out the banks etc so they may stall the drop but they won't stop it .... in my opinion

if euro goes so goes the swiss.. because ez products will be cheap and it will kill swiss industry.. greece can make all europes banks crash and lead to world markets. if the people of greece make a rush to the bank it could snowball. i suspect this will make gold spike.. buy gold with euros while euro is worth something mind set.

News message h3 { font-size:14px; } p { font-size:12px; } Despite stops still being tipped below 0.8660, the new 10-day low, we are now hearing of buyers emerging in [EUR/GBP] in and around the current base. A UK clearer is said to have been a noted fairly recent buyer, as a couple of contacts suggest today's main seller has now turned a buyer, but via the options market. We may well have seen the low for now, as focus switches to the overall EU GDP number. The median is 0.3% q/q for Q4, but following the worse than forecast Italian and German results the risk is clearly lower. Some are tipping a possible flat read. Very unlikely, but if we do get a contraction we would not expect those sub-0.8660's to hold for long.



Which means E/G will follow the nose dive

yes..but if there is a panic the govs may get together and set a price for currency...i dont know if it legal or not..
