yep, had my demo from $1000 to $2500 in a couple of days... live I'm so very careful, it nearly hurts.

Are you actually replying to me personally or offering another perspective on things to the noob sounding trader I was replying to about "putting pending orders in on both sides" of what is possibly going to be a very volatile NFP...?

I'll stand by my post and Guarantee him that he won't lose a Single pip if he's flat. If he wants to trade demo or watch and take notes then that's fine too but my reply was about Staying in the Game... not chasing pips during one of the most volatile events on the calendar.

Speaking personally, I'm not trading thru NFP. Period. I've done it in the past, made some, lost some, and now I very rarely even trade Friday's at all... works for me.

How I pinch my pips otherwise can be somewhat inferred from my posts like this one from earlier today and the ones following... 2 shorts from the previous day and an add-on all closed for some decent pipage, another one still running and nicely into profit.

Like I said, I'm Done and planning a weekend with mrs ak...

Morning to all . how everybody doing ?
start the day with charts . As eu have enough fall & suspicion arises if reached the bottom & taking gold as the signal which first time below the daily trendline & still holding below, neligible attempts to back so far.It retraces a little from top also while eu over 100% fib of the last wave (5) & 50% fib ( the whole last wave up) ,only below 38.2% fib 5th wave & 23.6% fib whole wave . so much more to fall in gold than thought to have good retracements at least 50% of the wave 5 can be forst target 1046 around.

so taking signal overall bearish again to continue & action ,shorts open.

I think you were a victim of slippage last night. It's highly unlikely they'll refund you your money.

Its not about win to losses though its about your account balance.
Swing traders can have 6 wins andf 4 losses and still be profitable because of their risk reward ratio while scalpers need a much higher percentage since they risk more.
So yeah its all about risk and $'s not about wins vs losses.

That's not unrealistic for a scalper. I have better than 90% win ratio, but for me one loser is usually a lot bigger than a win.

volume is not linked to fundies in anyway ...trust me i trade using vsa 100 %

when all were saying how great things were and how bearish the usd was I could clearly see dx being accumulated and positioned myself for sells in gu and eu off the tops.... go back into my postingos of middle of last year and then in october on this.

2500 pip as in 250 lots x 10 pip ?

there is always one . those that brag they make this n that are the ones losing the most.

10 % on account per month is really good , hell even breaking even you are beating 85% of traders. Those are the real stats

just stating from my experience when a market decides to drop like this best to wait for a real reversal day before trying to take a long just cause a lagging indie that says market is oversold says so ..but what ever works for you , yeah i may miss 100 pip of move but better to do that than lose 5 x 30 pip trade trying to catch bottom

Go back and read my post again, Im a scalper, I scalp anywhere from .5 pips to 7 pips, and rarely ever more than 7, my average is 3.5 pips per scalp.
If you cant average at least 80% as a scalper then you dont need to be scalping.
So yes I have a 90% win to loss ratio which isnt out of the norm for decent scalpers which I consider myself to be.
So please save your belittling comments for someone else.
Here ya go, a chart so you can count my 90%, 20 winning trades to 2 losses in a few hours on the eur/jpy today.
So anyhow, good luck in your trades.

Exactly.
I personally work on a 1:1 risk reward ratio, so therefore need to have a higher win percentage to be profitable. Sometimes my ratio is even 2:1 risk reward which is opposite of most peoples 1:2 ratio.

I am also a day trader .... all you really need do is find a good trend , nice tight stop ( your 1st trade on move up was awesome) , trail the stop and one trade 50 pip , you are done for day .

do not like slippage trade cme currency futures .... centralized not crocks like fx .. also eu round trip 2.6 pip including comission

they even have eu emini now which requires less margin

if I knew whether the trend is continued or it retraced by 100-150 pips, I would do that. of course, you are right... scalping is not the preferred way of trading, but to be honest I'm learning quite a lot from it.

I totalled net of 50.8 pips on the eur/jpy trades I did earlier.
I am a true scalper, in trades for usually less than a minute per trade with very tight stops, usually 6-8 pip stops.
So yes I did all that for 50.8 pips but when youre trading 10 100k lots each pip I make is 100$ not 10$ So its more than worth it for me.
As for doing the whole 50 pip trailing stop thing, thats not a bad idea, but with my trading style its not plausable because 50 pips is 5k, so if I have a 50 pip stop and it moves against me thats going to hurt majorly. Just not worth it with my trading style.
To each there own tho.
