I think if we trade like "billionaire trade would" we would be so rich. So having that mentality that you are rich as a sultan, then you would have no losses on short term trades. Do the opposite of what your technical analysis tells you half of the time, then you will succeed.

I said em earlier 4000 first. Also, it looks like the original trend dollar strength is holding up. I'm already in positives on my shorts

The reason why i don't like to say that it will go there and hit that level , for one reason is not to miss inform people and let them decide their own TP's and SL's. because most of the time my TP's don't hit and come close to it, so i changed my tactic and set them a bit less greedy, usually 10 to 20 pips lower than my expected level always helps to hit what I need.

Tough to offer an analysis on this pair....positioning levels seem unclear about 51/49 .... not skewed/imbalanced enough for me a to take a position. It appears everyone is on the sidelines until a clear trend develops.

Ill do the same. Until then, the yen it is!

I traded as a Tech.Anal. 5years ago for a year, so 5-4 years made about 35k on my 5k investment, then slashed my 40k into 20k in about a month (what an insane month) then got out went to UCLA to study Economics to learn the fundamentals. I know how to do all of that shit now and how it works. Economics is a very hard language to learn and understand. It's very important to understand what they mean, which I know now.
What is next for me is to understand how those data effect the market. I have been gather data for about 2 months now, don't trust the impact levels of any website on certain data releases, they are not true, except the obvious (GDP and Employment, Inflation/Deflation)

From your point of view, how could you explain PA after GBP news release? We should have seen a selloff in cable, wich means USD stronger (at least against pound). But instead we see higher prices in EUR/USD and cable almost not affected.

you forgot the cross correlations ... See also EURGBP and you'll find the answer

Those type of things drive me crazy I just saw that happen and your mouth drops and stay there... You scratch your head and shrug your shoulders... Think, think why? we will never know.
some possibilities
1. it's not a high impact data... go to previous release of that exact data, then hope it's release alone like today, then look at what happened on the last release and what kind of impact it had.
2. Is the most obvious one the forces canceled each other out. up and down forces.
3. Everything else that we don't know, market always surprises us.

driver is correct, but even there you don't see must significance. it just went up a bit then continues down, which means that GBP has lots of strength.

A PhD (never mind an undergrad' degree) in Economics (unless it was behavioural economics) isn't going to help you profit given the short time frame you trade and the size of your financial wad.

At the moment, I'm seeing lots of AUD and GBP strength, in some way it's helping the EUR to get stronger against USD, because AUD,GBP with CHF and JPY are helping the USD to lose some ground, and EUR follows them too.

Yes EG=EU/GU. I got that one, but here is my doubt: Bad data for Pound should make pound less stronger in any pair. Instead of that, cable remains intact and EUR/GBP benefits of bad GBP data and the loser in the hole equation is the dollar wich finally losses ground against EURO.
Why ot happens like that and not Cable dropping, EG rising and EU intact?
I know it's a matter of rates of movement but I can't understand why USD is the loser of the situation when GBP should be the one most affected.

Because GBP has lots of strength, and don't forget if there is set trends, the data needs to be high impact in order to make a true move on the price level. I know it says that it is high impact, but if you go to 4 more site where they have calendars you will see they all show deferent levels of impact.

So by saying that, don't trust that it was high impact.

Look at it this way. If the data came out and it had no impact or little impact on price level, then it is LOW IMPACT...
