I think my gut would be about as successful as my brain at trading -lol- but I read a book called "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell on first impressions/instincts which made a lot of sense to me.

Funny story while we are waiting. Last night just before midnight gmt I was deciding where to buy into g/u and had established using all our tools including fibs, pivots, and my bull flag channel bottom coinciding with the 200ema, that 1.613 would be where I needed to buy and it could be some time before it reached there, so I retired.
Before switching off, my wife looked at my 15 min chart "mess" with lines and fibs everywhere and said "can I see the chart without any lines"? After 30 seconds she suggested...Ignored

As you mention though, we use quite a few tools to aid us but it seems we still need to ultimately trade what (we see) price is telling us

DislikedWell keep in mind that price feeds do vary a bit from broker to broker. So a few pips difference is to be expected. But Captain said it "blew right through his" which is why I asked him how his 62 was setup.Ignored
