I see. You had me confused when you said "pulled back to EP," as that implied an entry had been made.

Yes, it can be confusing. I have always used "Ep" to denote the SonicR entry area/point, as opposed to my actually making an entry which I try to designate in a "my trade" post. At the time, in this "potential trade" post there existed L, H, and HL and then "Ep" on the way back up when a candle made it's high out of the Dragon, but then closed back down inside it....followed by a candle that started within the Dragon and then moved out and beyond that high/ "Ep".

Potential EU Long Trade: This shows higher lows and highs. Pic based on potential long trade should price construct a leg up and past Ep area (blue line).

Here is how the GU sets up from the short side ...

but again, this is all demo trades and paper trades for me this week. I would hope that most Sonikers have taken Sonic's advice and put their real money away until next year.

Thank goodness for paper trading during weeks like this!

That GU short would have resulted in a small loss of -20 to -25 pps depending upon how I set my exact EP and SL.

I entered long at 1.5972, just above the "Ep" area posted in #9056 and #9060, and shown in the pic. Unfortunately, everything is acting bashful to break out of ranges!

Edit (13 hrs later): Going nowhere for some time...lingering at Tp1 area. Moved SL up a bit. Perhaps this session will bring additional upside progress.

My EJ Trade: Moved SL up to 132.00 and moved Tp1 up to 132.66, which is a bit over 100 pips off the low of the session and about 100 pips above Ep. I will close trade there should it all happen.

Can u pls explain what was the trigger for entering both trades ?
It does not look as a classic entry = break out of previous H/L
BUT it looks as an entry as the price have tested support arround the dragon ?
Do you call it "re-entry" ?
Any rules as when you enter the classic breakout and when the "other" way ?

GU Potential Trade:

Using Fibonacci Extension off of last run down and applied to the top of the current range, SonicR re-entry at 38%, Tp1 at 100%, and Tp2 at 162%.

After the run down, price has returned to ranging. This is typically consolidation; a period of time where traders prepare for the next breakout run. Based upon my interpretation of the Weekly chart (yes, the Weekly chart), I think there is a good chance of a downside run. This is the pair that months ago ddaytrader was expecting a huge drop off of what looked like a H&S formation back then. Well, now the even larger Weekly time frame chart has the look of a darned good potential SonicR short trade.....just pretend it is an M15 chart!

GU Potential (Re-entry) Trade:

Another way to look at it is via FEs used to get targets for the first run that has already happened. Note that the 162% level can now be re-entry area, Tp1 at the 262% area, and Tp2 at the 424% area, as shown on the chart below.
